tagsta
i didnt post anything in a while mainly because of the fact that most of my painting stuff is on the 90%done WIP stage and i want to wait with the "proper presentation" until everything is completely done.. well i am working my way towards a half battle company + support.. i'm only 8 marines and 2 WIP rhinos short of reaching my goal.. here is the WIP stuff that I consider worth showing off http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7187.jpg Veteran Sergeant WIP.. pretty much done except for the base and some minor touch ups http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7188.jpg old dusty techmarine received some touch ups on the yellow parts and my freshly printed homemade decals... I'm especially proud of the Mechanicus Symbols.. big thanks to the B&C download section here is the old paintjob for comparison: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/Rhino.jpg this is the command squad with their ride.... pretty much a razorback with more bling http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7194.jpg the apothecary needs his servo skulls painted and some of the metal parts need touch ups.. especially proud of the company champion http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7197.jpg more armour http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7198.jpg i recently purchased an airbrush and the results are excellent! took me only an afternoon to get these 3 bad boys that far http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7199.jpg the modified land raider also has some color on now... still need to convert the sponsons and close the hole in the front section black reach dreads heavily converted http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7185.jpg as you can see the right one is supposed to be an ironclad.. very happy with the result only need to add the melta to the ironclad and do some minor touch ups like highlighting the black and painting the scrolls.. the shooty dread is an ex devastator sergeant hence the red stripe on the sarcopharcus http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7195.jpg a 2 handed assault marine and last but not least all the rhino based tanks I have for my yellow marines: note the rhino that has the tactial arrow on the roof already.. very pleased with the result.. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7202.jpg and the rest of the armour that is not based on a rhino chassis: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/Tagsta/Warhammer40k/Marines%20Malevolent/IMG_7203.jpg let me know what you guys think cheers tagsta Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159790-ongoing-marines-malevolent-project-log/ Share on other sites

tagsta
Some very cool conversions there and I love the colours! <_< What yellow are you using? Vallejo Game Color Bad Moon Yellow and i recently purchased Vallejo Model Color Lemon Yellow which is slightly too bright so I darkened it up a little but looks also amazing i love those two dreds , great conversions..! thank you! I'm especially proud how i managed to make the boring black reach dreads look special Alright :P Just noticed your Veteran Sergeant; he's looking very spiffy, and definitely very impressive. By the way, what's the WiP Stuff that you didn't consider worth showing off? some standard tactical marines, the heavily converted black reach captain and about 10 black reach terminators that were modified with regular termi bits in order to look like regular dynamic termis they are just too WIP atm, so i will post pictures of them later when they are almost done wow nice more close up shots!!love the conversions and stuff thanks ==) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159790-ongoing-marines-malevolent-project-log/#findComment-1874512 Share on other sites

Biohazard
Excellent paintjobs your yellow is awesome. Can I ask how you made the right handed powerfist on the Ironclad Dred? blood_raven_240
Either it's Forgeworld, or he cut a Left-Handed Dreadnought Power Claw up a bit, and used the Shouder from a Right-Handed Dreadnought Arm to mount it on. That's my guess anyway :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159790-ongoing-marines-malevolent-project-log/#findComment-1874622 Share on other sites
Dusktiger
your iron clad is AWESOME! looks like soomething our of a mechwarrior dark ages novel. tagsta
Alright :) Just noticed your Veteran Sergeant; he's looking very spiffy, and definitely very impressive. By the way, what's the WiP Stuff that you didn't consider worth showing off? some standard tactical marines, the heavily converted black reach captain and about 10 black reach terminators that were modified with regular termi bits in order to look like regular dynamic termis they are just too WIP atm, so i will post pictures of them later when they are almost done Not even the Captain? it is way too WIP and looks super messy atm.. i will post him asap though to cure your curiosity: i removed the bolter and the front section of the black reach captain, added a MarkIV Torso + FW Veteran Sergeant Haas' Head with Sicarius' Haircrest.. the relic blade was exchanged with a shorter gladius... that's prety much it Excellent paintjobs your yellow is awesome. Can I ask how you made the right handed powerfist on the Ironclad Dred? Cheers it cut the Multimelta away and added the lower part of a spare FW powerfist i had lying around.. Either it's Forgeworld, or he cut a Left-Handed Dreadnought Power Claw up a bit, and used the Shouder from a Right-Handed Dreadnought Arm to mount it on. That's my guess anyway :P good guess =) your iron clad is AWESOME! looks like soomething our of a mechwarrior dark ages novel. LOVE it! think i just found atemplate for how i want to do 'my' ironclad once i get the parts. sweet! i didnt like the GW concepts that much either, that's why i came up with my own design... The lower leg armour are made from the extra shell holder things from the plastic vindicator kit and the improved armour plating on the torso are from a LR lascannon side sponson.. That Ironclad looks really impressive. Weapons bristling out of every available mounting point. Nice job. The yellow looks really clean as well. thats how imagines those bad boys :D the lower rocket launcher thingies are supposed to be the ironclaud assault grenade launcher described in the codex thanks a lot for the positve feedback so far =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/159790-ongoing-marines-malevolent-project-log/#findComment-1874702 Share on other sites

Honda
tagsta, I just love that two handed assault sgt. That pose just says, "Go ahead, mess with me". I'm afraid that I will have to find a way to put someone like him into one of my tactical squads. He's just too brilliant of a pose. paulson games
The two-handed chainsword model looks tough as nails. I really like the iron clad dread design and make borrow some of you armor ideas. What did you use for the crane arm on your techmarine rhino? It looks awesome.
