its looking nice, im a fan of the cleaved colour scheme as a whole and you are pulling it off nicely.

in terms of c&c id say that from the pictures it looks like you could do with highlighting the base colour before adding the various ooze to them, though the results so far are still good but from a painting perspective would add something. oh and i dont know if you already plan on it but i suggest putting some gloss varnish over the ooze bits to make em look suitably goopy ala the squad in the chaos dex.

and finally what colour are you using for your base coat? me and tin weasel spent a fair while discussing the cleaved colour scheme a while back and its always interesting to see how people are going about it. (for reference the official scheme is reported to be a mix of catachan green and tentacle pink :pinch: )

Im going to highlight it after im done with the ozing part since the brown/green has a tendancy to get messy on parts you dont want to have it on. After the ozzing then i go back and coverup misshaps with the base color, then after that im going to highlight.

Also im not going to highlight it too much i like the kinda dull and gritty look.

The color is tentacle pink, catachan green and denab stone. and belive me its alot of pink in the mix ;)

The oildrizzle is scorched brown and dark angels green with flesh wash.

And yes im planing to add gloss varnish to get the shiny effect =) when its all done

fair play mate.. from the pictures i can never really tell when ppl have used the "proper" colour or not.. same with the official photography tbh. glad to hear somebody else is using the "proper" method.. though admittedly your progress is a lot quicker than mine (base coat only.. )

ill be keeping an eye on you as you post em

Personally my favorite of the new renegade chapters. Was going to do an army before I got distracted by Blood angels (again, jsut can'y get away from them. I'm in love.), adn have been wondering if I'd ever see an army of them.

I have to say, I think you've nailed it. They look fab. The ooze isn't so overboard that it's all over the model. It's just, well, oozing. And the main colour is fine. More bone coloured than the codex (which is kinda pinkish), but still really good. Keep up teh good work and consider me subscribed.

I like your rhino; It looks more like a work of art then a crude plastic tank.

Thanks man i try my best but its not done yet ;) hope it wil come out the way i picture it when its done. Its really hard to work nurgle on on a light base color but i love doing it tho its diffrent :D

Looks great man, I liked that scheme but doubted I would be able to replicate the "leaks", you however have done great.

The only input I could give would be to maybe hit them up with a really light brown wash after everything else to further define the cracks and edges and dirty them up a smidge. Otherwise, nothing negative to say at all!

You Win!

I nominate you to do the official B&C Cleaved Painting Tutorial. Nihm was trying to get me to do it, but I haven't been so speedy since my first two tutorials. You got it down, should be no problem to come up with the tutorial, Nihm can help you get it i the Librairium or whatever it is called.

Make mine Nurgle!

For what it's worth, I may as well chime in here seeing as how my name was mentioned earlier in the thread. I got some feedback over on the Relicnews Painting & Modeling Forum on how to replicate the "official" GW scheme for The Cleaved - my plan in painting up my Chaos Renegade warband, The Disciples of the Four, is to have "inducted" members from other Legions, renegades, and Loyalist Chapters for the sake of keeping things interesting and giving me a chance to play around with some of my favorite color schemes without having to paint up whole units (or armies). I was very impressed with The Cleaved's appearance, with the caveat that I would go a bit easier on the leaking fluid when I got around to painting my own.

Well, working on my CSM warband has been slow going for a lot of reasons, but I did finish a test figure (a WFB Gobbo, unfortunately not a CSM yet) in the "official" GW color scheme, which does indeed have as the basecoat a 1:1 mixture of Tentacle Pink and Catachan Green. Here's the thread over on the Relicnews P&M Forum with the color progression I used and the final outcome: http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=166118

The purple areas are my tying in of my own Chaos Warband unifying colors - I'm thinking when I finish the batch of Berzerkers I'm working on, I can hopefully get to painting the rank 'n' file CSM's in earnest.

With that out of the way, I'm really liking the stuff you've painted up thus far in your color scheme. The leaking fluids are well done and not "over the top," and everything's looking great - in a pale, sickly Nurlge-esque sort of way.
