Filantropolo
First, please excuse my English, it´s not my first language, and have not write a word in it for years. I want to create my own chapter, an army than looks different, not the typical space marines army. Before start it I think it long and I make some experiments, now I´m pleased with the aesthetic I ´m giving to army. It´s a WIP, they need some minor touches, purity seals are not finished and I´m also working in decals. I´m a fast painter, 3 or 4 hours per miniature, I know it, the technique could be better and the photos are not as good as they may be. Monstra Sumus
Whoa, good paint job. The heads are pretty funky, got a back story for them? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160081-wip-tactical-squads/#findComment-1877954 Share on other sites
SpeakerfortheDead
Looks pretty good. I'd put those models on the table and be proud of em! They remind me of the Marines from Starcraft with the bubble helmets. jester_prince
Hmmmm... theyre cool.... though remind me of buzz lightyear... Still pretty sweet paint job, it would trake me months to paint to that standard consistantly, i CAN paint... and im not too bad but i hate batch painting, and i lose enthusiasm after half a squad normally. So great work. Mbaey you could make them specilize in a certain enviroment? Lava world would suit them.... or aquatic. To infinity and beyond. Epic Thoughts
What are you using for the bases? Very nice job. Impressive. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160081-wip-tactical-squads/#findComment-1878003 Share on other sites
Filantropolo
I´m working on back story, fast orbital assaults, CQC in space ships (they use sawed off lasscanons). There are some starcraft and space-opera inspiration in the project. Basing work it´s really simple, plasticard sheet and pin heads. The Defiler
I totally love the "bubble helmets" (where are they coming from by the way, if you don't mind telling us ?), it's so old school Sci-Fi and in the same time very innovative !! Short lascannons looks really cool.. (some people might steal that idea) Keep up the good work !! :) the def :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160081-wip-tactical-squads/#findComment-1878250 Share on other sites
Filantropolo
If some one wants make their own saw off lascannon this photo could be a good help, an auxpex and some plasticard. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/7343/caonlaser1zy5.th.jpg About the bobble helmet, it’s from stuff that architecture students use for their models, I don’t know the word in English; it’s like a window but in the roof. Snozz
They're very good. The bubble helmets look pretty cool, and I like the sawn off Lascannons. But I don't think Lascannons would be off much use in space boarding actions. Giant Lasers make giant holes. Giant holes tend to frowned upon in space ships. Other than that little thing, they're great. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160081-wip-tactical-squads/#findComment-1878850 Share on other sites
Doghouse
These guys are fantastic, highly original take on the space marines! Superb work mate, love the bubble helmets! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160081-wip-tactical-squads/#findComment-1878969 Share on other sites
Pig Of Sparta
Very original <_< and great brushwork too :), I wish I could knock out 3-4 mini's an hour. (I wish I had enough hours to do more than the few I do do) Look forward seeing more of these, and to reading the background on them too, marines doing what marines should be doing!
