Chalx the grey
I just finished painting my wannabe Wolf Lord (he's just an aspiring Battle Leader but he can do better) and thought I would share it with the world. I know it's a fairly common mini but I like how the little shield conversion worked out. I followed what somebody said about a certain iron priest who was smart enough to install a field generator into a common wooden shield, let me know what you think! It's a Fantasy dwarf shield with a reconstructed Auspex and a wolf tail, for the wolfy flavour. Also the model itself has no wolf tail so I had to add it there somehow :P Here bofore adding the wolf tail and light up the whole mini. Here finished! ...and a side view of the shield. Freehand is not my thing. I'm building a small mech force and I hope to write some fluff and maybe some dramatic battle reports if I find the time. Watch out for the Thundershield saga! OnlyInDeath
Spot on job with the painting! The shield may be a bit small to pass off as a stormshield, but would work well for a 4+ invuln save item considering it's supposed to have a build in shield generator....or you can just say screw it and call it a stormshield :P hehe Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160427-solrak-thundershield/#findComment-1882305 Share on other sites
Bran Scalphunter
Very nice there Chalx! *passes ale to Chalx* Excellent paint job, and I never though of doing a Storm Shield up like that. Imaginative use of bitz with him and well done with the lightning effects. Can't wait for more of your work! Vash113
Freehand not your thing? I dunno about that, the shield looks pretty darn good, I especially like the glowing effect. Chalx the grey
Thanks for your comments! Compared to David's Ulrik my model is as humble as a bolter though. Spot on job with the painting! The shield may be a bit small to pass off as a stormshield, but would work well for a 4+ invuln save item considering it's supposed to have a build in shield generator....or you can just say screw it and call it a stormshield :) hehe Of course I'm calling it a stormshield, can't you see sparks all over? :whistling: Is the powerful disruptive field that counts!!
