Brother Captain Andrecus
Well, I thought I'd buy into the Ironclad fad, so I bought me some Hurricane Bolters and some plasticard and I built me an Ironclad! Yeehaw! This particular I'clad is a bit different than some others you might see, but I like it. So, without further ado, I present to you my Ironclad Dreadnought! http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff004.jpg The extra armor. http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff001.jpg The foundation of the Seismic Hammer. This part is the hammer's "head". It's made of two matching plastic bits that came with the Hurricane Bolters I ordered. http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff005.jpg The Seismic Hammer's handle bit. This came from an old computer cable... http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff008.jpg The two bits attached together, with another black plastic bit attached to the short end of the hammer-head. This came from a broken airsoft gun. The black plastic thing is shaped like a screw-head, with one line across it... http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff009.jpg Another pic of the whole hammer. http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff002.jpg To make the Hurricane Bolter, I just took the Hurricane Bolter bit, and then widened the hole that's in it with a craft knife so that it fit over the little arm stub on the Dreadnought. Simple! http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff007.jpg The whole Dread. I took the hammer and placed it in the DCCW so it looked like the Dread was holding the hammer. Looks a bit better in person, and It's not quite finished yet. http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/oo52/Drakdylon/Dreadnoughtstuff011.jpg Here he is striking a pose. Doesn't that look like "I had a hard days work purging Xenos"? So that's my newest conversion, and I must say one of my best. What do you guys think? zarnak21
Look good to me mate. The hammer is a nice little addition although you might want to make it look like he's gripping it a bit more. Brother Captain Andrecus
Yes, I agree with you on that one... After I took these pics, I converted the Stormbolter on his arm into a melta-gun and re-positioned the fingers a tad, so it looks as if he's really holding the hammer. Pics of that will follow... FuriousFerret
Nice work! - though I don't subscribe to your interpretation of the seismic hammer (I see it more as a piston-driven pneumatic battering ram), but to each his own. The hurricane bolter is intriguing, could you post a better picture?
