Kolomaq
Esteemed gentlemen, I have a question regarding the new codex and Landraiders. In carrying terminators, it no longer says that they count as two models (at least, as i can see), so would my landraider be able to carry a full 10 terminator squad? I believe so, as there isn't anything that states otherwise in the codex, and even army builder lets me attach a landraider to a 10 terminator squad. Sorry if this seems a bit basic of me, but I cannot locate any key verbiage to clear it up. Thanks! jeffersonian000
Terminators count as 2 "models" for transport purposes (pg 66, BRB). In the Imperial Armour books, its mentioned that bikes count as 5 "models", while dreadnoughts count as 10 "models", when using super-heavy transports. nighthawks
the counts-as 2-model rule is also in the last paragraph of the "terminator armour" description in the armoury of C:SM (p102) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160586-landraider-capacity-clarification/#findComment-1884715 Share on other sites
Kolomaq
Ahh, thanks guys. Somehow I missed the codex wording, but in the rule book, it's right there. Any suggestions on best practices for deploying termies? is it a good idea to put 8 in a crusader and wheel across the field? eyescrossed
Oh, also, you can fit 6 Termies in a normal LR. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160586-landraider-capacity-clarification/#findComment-1884991 Share on other sites
jeffersonian000
Oh, also, you can fit 6 Termies in a normal LR. Kind of. Older codexes still list a transport cap of 10 models for a Land Raider, while the current edition Space Marine codex shows a 12 model cap. Which means you need to pay attention to which codex you are using. Castus Xanthis
The old codex had a 12 cap too. The codex with the 10 cap was Codex Chaos Marines and that got errata'd. Isiah
The old codex had a 12 cap too. The codex with the 10 cap was Codex Chaos Marines and that got errata'd. Well Codex DA and BA have a max of ten models for an LR, sixteen for an LRC. So yes they do differ between codexes. Castus Xanthis
I remembered wrong, so sue me. I could have sworn 4th ed Codex: Space Marines had Land Raiders with capacity 12. Seahawk
Nope. The first instance that any standard land raider having a cap more than 10 is with the V5 Space Marine codex. Anything before is 10. Previously, only Crusaders ever had more, at 16. werewolf_nr
even army builder lets me attach a landraider to a 10 terminator squad While army builder is pretty accurate, don't trust it to be 100%. Secondly, the dedicated transport restrictions due to squad size were mostly lifted. You can take a Razorback with a 10 man squad if you wanted. Just can't stick 10 men in it.
