Thanks Gumba :P

As a non-gamer it gives me much greater scope just to paint whatever I fancy, and just lately I've not followed any themes at all! Perhaps Chaos is claiming my soul...

Well, he's done. I still want to get some light tent shots of him for the HoH, but here's a few shots.

Enjoy and all C&C most welcome.

Ta.

Great looking mini...the rich, but subdued colors are nice. I especially like all the time you put into shading to create shape...instead of the rush to highlight that so many of us are guilty of.

I don't think that you have anything within your style to feel guilty about... Well except for the whole having too any demons thing :P :)

I appreciate the input, I'm settling into a slightly darker, less saturated colour preference and it seems to suit my style, so I'll keep working at it. I now hate the base on this guy, but I enjoyed painting the model and put a few personal demons, with regards to NMM and particularly handling reds, to bed.

Onwards and upwards...

@wiplash - thanks mate, I'm glad that you like the final model ;)

@Freakiq - Thanks, the head is a really great little sculpt for this model and gives him so much character. I'm just surprised that no-one seems to have used it before, because it's a cracking little part.

@Mithril - hehe! Before and after... :D This one must be a friend of Br. Alas! cos Alas! has a bionic leg, but they do stand next to each other on the shelf at home (taunting Br. Duncan the Imperial Banana ;) )

PS Cmon voting link - Linky Thanks chaps!

This a bit of a random question but I think you mentioned a light tent or photo cube earlier. Is this just the popup kind you can find somewhere such as ebay, I have been thinking of getting one as I find taking pictures in my current appartment rather hard and a solution that is easy to store would certainly be welcome. Also would you say it makes taking photos a much easier process, especially on colors such as red which I find quite tricky to capture currently.

Gumba - The light tent helps a bit, but a couple of good lamps, or more particularly bulbs with a piece of paper does a good job too. I would recommend a tripod or a camera stand, though.

Then I use irfanview and GIMP to cut the pics up and join together and then get the colour balance and image size sorted.

It takes a bit of practice, and my camera-fu is full of fail, but it's worth it to make the pictures more presentable.

Yeah I used to have more space for some lamps but now I am a bit more crowded so I will search and see if I cant find some smaller desk lamps I can keep around for picture taking. I will have to look into a tripod though, then I guess I could set longer exposure times and that in itself might help. Most of my minis are greyish so untill I started painting some brighter colors I never noticed how fiddly they can be :Elite:
