Uprising
I finally got my first chaos marine(5 man box) and there all painted in dragon warriors color scheme.(I will post once i got a 1000pts done) I would like to have a Daemon prince in my 800+ list but have some beginner questions. 1. How do you use him? 2. What mark do you like to use on him? 3. If he doens`t have the mark of khorne which powers is the best with him? 4. What size base is he on(I think of use the Dark elf hydra or the hordes carniveans for him)? 5. if i do the hydra idea, where can i get the wings? Thanks for reading and please reply. I need advice. eyescrossed
I finally got my first chaos marine(5 man box) and there all painted in dragon warriors color scheme.(I will post once i got a 1000pts done) I would like to have a Daemon prince in my 800+ list but have some beginner questions Okay. 1. How do you use him? I charge mine straight into enemy squads without power fists, or vehicles. 2. What mark do you like to use on him? Nurgle or Slaanesh. Nurgle for resilience, and Slaanesh if I wanna be an ass and have Lash. 3. If he doens`t have the mark of khorne which powers is the best with him? Warptime or Lash of Submission in my opinion. 4. What size base is he on(I think of use the Dark elf hydra or the hordes carniveans for him)? 60mm, but I use mine for fantasy and 40k, so I put mine on the big square base. if i do the hydra idea, where can i get the wings? There are lots of websites which sell bits, but I personally don't use them. Thanks for reading and please reply. I need advice. No problem :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160731-daemon-prince/#findComment-1885959 Share on other sites

Blackironindustries
I have recently asked a few questions about DP (Daemon Princes) and have been using them quite a bit. 1. How do you use him? 2. What mark do you like to use on him? 3. If he doens`t have the mark of khorne which powers is the best with him? Firstly give him wings, otherwise he has a long way to walk and will take a lot of fire. I would either use him as Undivided with Warp Time, this is a great way of dealing with characters and vehicles. Other then that Mark of Slaanesh and Lash of Submission, which is great to move enemy units where you want them, as in closer so you can assault them, further away so they cant assault you, group them together to make a template weapon very effective(defilers can be very funny near a Lash Prince) and behind something so they can shoot at you or are out of range. You still have the option to steam in and give some Deamon lovin to the enemy but stear clear of plasma/heavy weaponry and power fists. 4. What size base is he on(I think of use the Dark elf hydra or the hordes carniveans for him)? Should be 60mm as stated by eyescrossed. 5. if i do the hydra idea, where can i get the wings? Games Workshop Website sell them, just type wings into the search option and then deposite cash and a limb! :P Other than that ebay? Hope this helps. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160731-daemon-prince/#findComment-1886539 Share on other sites
djkest
The Belakor model has wings and looks pretty sweet. It's only $30 and it's from the fantasy line. I'm running mine with Nurgle, Wings, and Warptime. having mark of Nurgle makes him 50% harder to kill with str 4 attacks, and yet still harder to kill with STR 5, 6, and 7 attacks. Warptime is more effective than Mark of Khorne most of the time, unless you get really lucky. Against MEQs with warptime, you have 88% chance of hitting, 97% chance of wounding, and allow no armor save. 5 attacks on the charge 85% of your attacks will kill an MEQ. With Khorne you have 1 extra attack, but 67% chance to hit and 83% chance to wound. 55.6% chance to kill per attack. Against T7, you have a 55% chance vs. 33% chance. Against T8, it's 17% chance vs. 33.3% chance. In summary, Warptime is statisticaly better than Mark of Khorne, especially against tougher opponents or opponents with WS 7 or higher. Epic Thoughts
Just CCW. But, being classified as a Monstrous Creature gives them more then enough bonuses to cover the lack of a daemon weapon, which some might consider a blessing, instead of a hindrance. Yes, the blessed PRINCES of the chaos gods are given the most holy of chaotic relics, the dreaded PLACTIC SPORK OF ANNIHILATION! eyescrossed
Also note that with Warptime you may reroll ALL the dice to hit and wound. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160731-daemon-prince/#findComment-1887362 Share on other sites
Uprising
Thank you for all your advice. :P Well after thinking about the subject, here is my idea. Step 1-I will buy the Hydra from the dark elf with a 60mm base(I hope it fits) Step 2-There are five heads so i was thinking of doing each head for 1 god and the middle will be undivide. This will aloud me to only need to buy 1 hydra for all the choices. Step 3- Before doing this, lets here some opinion from the people at bolter and chainswords. Thanks for reading and want do you think? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160731-daemon-prince/#findComment-1887465 Share on other sites

Zhukov
I always take Mark of Nurgle and wings. Most of the time also warptime. I run 2 princes btw. 1 tends to die too quick in my opinion. The problem is that without Mark of Nurgle he even gets wounded easily by a some rapid firing bolters. If my Prince has to die, then I want him to die because of high strenght weaponry, so that fire doesnt go to my oblits or vehicles. Sons of Horus
yes i forgot to mention 2 princes are better lol. have them both go hunting and before you know it your enemy won't have vehicles to shoot with anymore.
