ASM of Lamenters

This is the first time I've painted the ASM of the Lamenters (it'd be my 2nd squad unit of painting), and yes, I'm well aware of the messed ups I got (like I wish I used the Green Putty <not Green Stuff!> when I was assembling it and then paint it codex grey and then so on to yellow, for example).

The only messed ups I'm well aware of are the following:

--Green Stuffs should've been applied during assembly stage

--scratches -- I need to hurry and buy those sabol trays, since I acquired the B&C Mark I bag recently

--need to "finese" my painting skills with the fine brushes (it's damn hard to keep the line real straight as well as the ASM logo on right shoulder)

--cover up the white real well (poor white spray basing <forgot to shake it real well>)

--eyes glasses (am working on the technique currently)

the one with "burnt" jump pack is my latest one as you can see the progression from the one with no "burnt" jump pack which was my first time painting the ASM squad unit.

So I'm open to C&C for those models.

Enjoy the show (or not).

PS if you do want to view individual photos with intricate details, let me know -- I do have them on my SD card.

PSS I feel this post belongs to WIP moreso than Hall of Honor, since I do geninuely feel I have a long way to go to fine-tune my painting skillz

EDIT: Hmm, now I reconsider my post, and I think it should be in Hall of Honor now.

Always good to see an unheralded chapter ;) I like the effect on the jump pack, fits well with. A little criticism goes to the symbol, personally I lke squares rather than rectangles. But overall, your minis are fine, keep on you are on the good way ;)

Thanks, Cpt Stahl.

I just have trouble to make them really square -- so I used a trick with razor blade and cut a very light line to split the shoulder 4 ways vert and 4 ways horizontal. Some of them do come out a bit square, but that makes the other square a bit "rectangular." I must admit it's tough to get them right (i.e. a perfect square on the shoulder pad).

I like them. I have the same problem with mine when it comes to the squares and what I usually do is take a micron pen and outline the squares first, then fill them in with Chaos Black. Overall they are looking good. Im looking forward to see how these come along.

Oh, and by the way, if I remember correctly your also using these guys with the BA codex?

Keep up the good work, us Lamenters have to stick together!

Yep, that's me. I remember you, tho I can't remember what your lamenters look like (I'll look up the search-fu tonite when I get home).

Got any pictures of ASM to post ?
