Iron Bars
Hi guys, I'm a new daemonhunter player, come over to check out 5th edition 40k afer playing wfb for a few years. My question is, if I equip my GKH with a daemonhammer does this replace the nfw or can I choose with one I want to use in a certain situation, letting me switch between power/force weapon and thunder/daemonhammer? Krieghammer
If you look at the codex entry for Grey Knight Terminators (Elite) it is stated that they have stormbolters and can; "replace" these with some other piece of equipment, and also take nfw+sb "or" thunderhammer+sh. If one could apply this analogy on the GK Hero, it is no text to be found that states he is "replacing" anything.. he can be "given" anything from the armoury.. so the way i look at it he has both nfw and hammer.. and can deside which to use depending on what the situation demands of him!! Captain Malachi
This is a questions that's always bothered me as well, though it was more to do with SM sarges in the 4th ed 'dex. By RAW, I'd say he gets his original weapons as well as whatever you give him. However, I believe that RAI is that he replaces a weapon of your choice with the new one. So really I'd say play it however you and your gaming buddies say, but if you go to a tournament, you might face some contention since it really isn't all that clear. revnow
Bottom right of Pg. 42 of the BRB In short you get to choose which weapon to use, but the model doesn't get +1 A for dual wielding. number6
The armoury page of the DH codex states that a model may carry up to two weapons, and one of them may be two-handed. All GKT models -- including BCs of Elite units and both GK Heroes -- already come with two weapons. So purchasing a weapon from the armoury must replace at least one of the weapons the model already has. jeffersonian000
I concur. It gals me that I have to play full price for weapon that is replacing something I got for free, but those are the rules. Iron Bars
Thanks for all the answers, it was more a modelling question than a rule question to me. I gues the grand master wil get his daemon hammer when I start work on him.
