Force Weapons vs Tyranids

I just saw this in the 'Nid Codex, and couldn't see the same idea presented elsewhere in the searchy.

So...

'Tyranids within Synapse range as described above (including the Synapse Creature inself) are immune to the effects of Instant Death caused by weapons with a Strength double the creature's Toughness.'

Codex: Tyranids, page 28

To me, this reads so that Instant Death caused by other methods, such as a Librarian's Force Weapon, will still apply.

Force weapons don't work against 'models that are immune to instant death' (40k Rulebook, p.50), but 'Nids in Synapse range aren't: they just ignore high-Strength injury such as the classic krak missile vs 'Nid Warrior's face problem.

Please feedback on this, or let me know whether (and where) this has been discussed before. I find it very unlikely that is hasn't since 5th Ed was released.

Otherwise, hooray! Libbies can mash Carnifexes!

Reason for edit: Added section on 40k rulebook: Force weapons.

Nope, 'fraid not. It's the old Force Weapon that doesn't cause Instant Death. It "removes all wounds". Force Weapons didn't cause "Instant Death" when the 'dex was written so Grey Knight Grand Masters are one of the few models who can circumvent Eternal Warrior/Synapse.
