Zebra
Hi all. This is one of my first posts on here and I'd just like to show my painting progress with my space wolves. I know they are not very good but I try to aim for a finish that looks ok on the battlefield as opposed to display quality (which I do not have the ability for anyhow). First up is the first unit of grey hunters I painted quite a while ago. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6562.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6561.jpg Blood Claws http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6564.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6555.jpg And my latest unit of grey hunters which are still very much a painting in progress. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6554.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6542.jpg This is my Wolf lord which is also still in progress. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6544.jpg http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6545.jpg Also began a rhino which also needs finishing.I thought I'd try pre-shading this with my airbrush.I still need practice. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e192/steveneill/100_6576.jpg As you can see I still need to finish the bases on all of them and the blood claws still need matt varnish to go on top of the gloss. I work very slowly as time for me is very tight. In fact I started the newest grey hunters about 3 months ago after a break of around 3 years of no painting! I am fairly proud of them,I find painting still quite daunting. Hope you like them. Cheers. stinkenheim
hey they're looking good... the grey looks darker to shadow grey, what did you use for it? good use of the dags for the pack markings by the way. also what axe did you use for the pack leader? one thing i like to do, is giv the inside of wolf pelts a thinned down coat of flesh wash... looking good though andy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160899-my-space-wolves-so-far/#findComment-1888355 Share on other sites

Zebra
Hey thanks for the kind words guy's. The grey is codex grey.I tried shadow grey but did not like it. The first time I came across 40k was in about 1990 and wolves then were darker, which is why I think I like codex grey better. Unfortunately it's not my first time painting,I'm just not that good.Like I said though,on the battle field they look ok,which is what matters to me. I am always trying to improve though,it's always worth the effort. Thanks again. Sorry forgot to answer question about axe. The head is from the old white dwarf model, the shaft is from the plastic arm sprue and the handle is his original sword grip. Thanks for asking.
