Banville
Right, so Papasmurf has 4 basic attacks, plus one for two powerfists. However when he chooses to weild his power sword does he revert to his "basic" 4 as he is using two mismatched special weapons or does the extra attack still occur due to the fact that his load-out confers it? Grey Mage
I would say he stays at five. The rules for "special" close combat weapons say they have to be matched for you to get the +1 bonus when using them... however I dont see anything about them not being a close combat weapon, and thus giving you an extra attack when using "normal" close combat weapons. angronn
MC has a power sword? Didn't know that. Anyway, I believe it's quite straight-forward - using two special weapons confers no extra attack unless they are of the same type. So he'd still be on four. This only seems to apply to powerfist equivalents and Lightning Claws. Power weapons act as any other CCW when combining with pistols and such. Marneus doesn't have a weapon that can be matched with his power weapon though. So only 4 in any case. By the way, favorite Calgar quote ever: "Whoo, I got me's some big hands! I'mma poke you with my glow-stick!" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160935-calgars-power-sword/#findComment-1888850 Share on other sites
Silber
I think Grey Mage has it spot on. When using his Power Fists he gets the +1 for a special CCW plus another matching it. When using the Power Sword he'd combine it with one of the Fists, thus getting +1. They are still CCW, after all, the rule that they only get the bonus when wielded in a matching pair applies only when using the Fist as the "main" weapon, as far as I can see.... But he probably never uses that sword anyway, not with witnesses around. Imagine how stupit he'd look, wielding a sword in that gauntlet. Lord Macragge has an image to protect! EDIT: Screwed some coding. Corrected. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/160935-calgars-power-sword/#findComment-1888986 Share on other sites
Steelmage99
Using both a Powersword and a Powerfist (or any combination on non-identical special close combat weapons) means you never recieve +1 A. The is no such thing as a main close combat. There is no more "This is the weapon I am using and the other is supporting". Silber
I read it up (should have done so in the first place, but I was sure about it.... ). Page 42 BBB solves the matter. Pairing any two special CCW such as Power Weapons or Fist or basically anything that is not a "normal" CCW (chainsword, i.e.) never gives you the bonus. So no, Calgar has only 4 attacks using his Power Sword.
