OnlyInDeath
Love 'em. Right now I have a pair of the old bjorn models, and a pair toting TLLC and ML's. I have been fielding 1-2 in every game that i've played over the last 3 years and am rarely disappointed with them. If anything, they are big fire magnets that soak up prodigious amounts of fire before they finally go down, and the Vendread's lasting ability in CC is the stuff of legends. In my last 2 games, the vendread got in CC with 1) a deathwing CC squad led by a chaplain and 2) a 10 man unit of nobs (big choppas and power claw in that). End result: the dreadnaught went down in the last turn both times, having tied up two big scary units by himself almost the entire game. I plan to add 4 dreads to my army. Two TLHF/HF/CCW, one ironclad w/ SH/HF/HF, and a new "vendread" with a MM instead of the CC build. A BS5 model in a drop pod armed with a MM? ohhhh yeah. fore_Russ_and_The_Wolftime
personaly i base my army around the story and the way i see the army would be and i love the idea of a dreadnaught leading my army and they are great in game too Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161151-dreadnaughts-love-or-hate/page/2/#findComment-1900882 Share on other sites
JCarter
I find I don't use my Dread as much (darn little now) because of the need for a Rune Priest with a Runestaff and the usefulness of a Wolf Priest with a Med kit and the need for a WGBL with a ass can. Also, the Dread tends to die quickly to opponent's firepower.
