I've got like a month or two for this guy, so I'm trying a few new things out. Alpha PTP
I don't really know what to say, Grey_Death. It is just a stock Termi Chaplain on a scenic base. We can't exactly give you advice on something that has nothing done to it... Shortsonfire79
Well, for starters. His head is facing the wrong way, and his left foot is crooked, and his right arm looks painful. =-D Come on man! Get paintin! Grey_Death
Some progress on the Chaplain: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/3/7/22134_sm-Chaplain,%20Space%20Marines,%20Terminator%20Armor,%20Warhammer%2040,000.jpg The head is finished, but that's it. I've gotten some more work since this photo done, but just more of the bone color. Nothing super exciting, and my ambient light faded on me when the sun went down. C&C welcome as always, and more photos will be inbound as I finish more on the model! crazychib
Looking good so far. The helmet is sweet. Have you drilled out the stormbolter barrels? I can't quite make it out. LunchBox
GD...I'm gonna smack you for 2 reasons: 1.) Using black 2.) Not drilling the barrels *If only could claim the mighty power to wield the macarel... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161303-project-chaplain/#findComment-1910356 Share on other sites
Grey_Death
Yeah yeah yeah! The SB isn't drilled out! Blah blah blah ^_-. I always have it on my mind when I'm painting but never when I am out at the shop or hardware store. So I haven't gotten around to picking up the bit I need for bolters x.x...Maybe I will go do that FINALLY and not have this pop up in every thread anymore ^_-...Really doesn't bother me much to just...paint in the dot >.>... As to the bone effect, it's only Bestial Brown > Snakebite Leather > Bleached Bone > Skull White. It's all in controlling the layering. Oh and lunchy, I know I know I know! I'm using black for black where I really should be branching out and testing the waters with new techniques and colors. Did you ever post your recipe in your thread? But really this guy is purely for the contest and I'm strapped for time a bit. So sticking to 'what I know' helps keep the time frame for completion down ^_-... Thanks to you all for the comments, compliments, and complaints! Keep them coming! Otherwise I'll just keep doing what I always do and won't try anything different! LunchBox
Ahhhh...just giving you a hard time...one of the many services I offer for free. B) As to the "non-black black" (NBB) ;) I'm doing a section of a book for Darkson Design's painting guide, and I'll see that a copy gets posted here as well. Well...not "here" per se...maybe in the tut's section... Need to do a bit of touch up on the metallics still. After that I'll start highlighting the armor. C&C welcome as always! StraightSilver
This is looking lovely! By far and away my favourite Space marine model, and you have done it proud. I have been putting off painting mine but now you have inspired me. Can't really fault it, looking forward to seeing it finished. Love the base too, and the scroll at the front is very nicely done. Inquisitor =D=
Does he have a chapter? I was curious cause I see no chapter markings... Idk, the painting is spot on but he lacks any form of character to him. He's all "I am the Chaplain" and I'm "Yeah but whats your name?" And his reply, "Uuhhh..." Sorry man but he needs some uniqueness to him otherwise he's just another statistic. Grey_Death
More work done on the Chappy: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/3/23/24189_sm-Chaplain,%20Space%20Marines,%20Terminator%20Armor,%20Warhammer%2040,000,%20Wip%20Armor.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/3/23/24192_sm-Chaplain,%20Space%20Marines,%20Terminator%20Armor,%20Warhammer%2040,000,%20Wip%20Armor.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/3/23/24191_sm-Chaplain,%20Space%20Marines,%20Terminator%20Armor,%20Warhammer%2040,000,%20Wip%20Armor.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/3/23/24190_sm-Chaplain,%20Space%20Marines,%20Terminator%20Armor,%20Warhammer%2040,000,%20Wip%20Armor.JPG He's pretty much finished. Possibly doing chapter specific shoulderpad and chapter markings. Basing will be getting a small bit of static grass as well I believe. C&C welcome and wanted!
