mughi3
Got my SOB on the table this weekend....along with some BFG and CBT games, it was a long day. My opponent was playing grey nights.....this was going to be odd. who's side is the emperor on? Game- 1,500 points type-kill points setup-dawn of war. His list-PA'd GKs, elite inquisitor with retinue, GKT sqaud and GM, orbital strikes, eversore assassin. My list- lord Karamozov X2 SOB squads with some upgrades in repressors X1 retributor squad with 4 heavy bolters X2 exorcists culexus assassin Turn 1 I won and made him go first, he deployed nothing. I deployed kramaozov and a sisters squad in their repressor, the moved up and smoked the inquisitor and his retinue from shooting. Turn 2 He counters me by shooting/assaulting the sisters with a GK sqaud and the assassin, i make my faith check and survive the attack for a drawn combat. exorcists move up...fail to see the other GK squad, but smoke a couple terminators. CC is tied again. Turn 3 he sends in the terminators to deal with karamozov finally wiping out the sisters(sweeping advance) and karamozov. thus leaving his units somewhat exposed. the assassin and GKTs make it to cover so i smote the remainder of those GTs with HB fire and repressor fire while the exorcists work on the squad in the open. my assassin come in but is to far away to hit anything. Turn 4 he goes for the easy kill and puts some psycannon round into my assassin(should have put him behind the trees) and tries in vain to kill a repressor with his GTs and assassin. i once again fail to "see" the remaining GTs with one exorcist while the other takes pot shots at the terminators. the repressors nail the assassin. Turn 5 His GKs start moving towards my exorcists, and his GKTs continue to fire on the nearby repressor(why he didn't assault it is beyond me), i shoot back but fail to kill either of his surviving units...game ends KP total GKs 3 SOB 4 Victory for SOB p.s. the orbital strikes were totally useless. almost hit his own unit with them. i would never take them as a heavy option. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/inq1.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/inq2.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/inq3.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/inq4.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i112/mughi3/inq5.jpg The emperor protects! WarriorFish
It doesn't sound like a very exciting battle from your report, but well done on the win. That'll teach those dirty... uh, Grey Knights. Orbital Barrages can be very handy, but if used poorly will end up costing you - but that's the way I like them! I also like to see the ceremonial placing of the turn dice, I'm glad it's not just me who likes to find it a suitably dramatic place. Though that's probably not a surprise, considering my gaming group also has a "keeper of the die" model, complete with his own little song (don't ask) who stands next to it.
