Terrible_Trygon
I decided to make a True Scale Marine for fun. Here he is with his arms and head blue tacked on. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k156/Terrible_Trygon/Tarzards%20Talons%20Champion/DSCF0212.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k156/Terrible_Trygon/Tarzards%20Talons%20Champion/DSCF0213.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161395-true-scale-tarzards-talons-champion/ Share on other sites
Freakiq
His legs look like they're crouching while the torso is straight, I'd try angling the torso forward a bit to match the pose of the legs to make ity look like he's sneaking or moving in cover. Also the waist could be a bit thicker. These are just minor things though as on the whole he looks badass. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161395-true-scale-tarzards-talons-champion/#findComment-1894805 Share on other sites
Terrible_Trygon
Yeah, without the waist and belt my true scale marines look kinda weird. The plan is to sculpt his armour so that it matches the style of Captain Sicarius's chest and abdomen armour. Terrible_Trygon
More progress http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k156/Terrible_Trygon/Tarzards%20Talons%20Champion/DSCF0221.jpg Still got to file that green stuff a bit. I have plans for the chest plate, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Overdrive
Looking good. I'm slowly gathering parts to start a true scale army of my own, and I'm curious what you use for the back plate of the chest? Is it just a cut down terminator back or is it a regular marine back? Terrible_Trygon
A regular marine back. This one has had a ton of green stuff work done there because he is wearing a custom suit of power armour. Also here is a size comparison shot. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k156/Terrible_Trygon/Tarzards%20Talons%20Champion/DSCF0222.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161395-true-scale-tarzards-talons-champion/#findComment-1896214 Share on other sites
Dark Disciple
I like him, I may have to "borrow" this for creating Kor Phaeron ;) I'm looking forward to seeing him when he's finished. Terrible_Trygon
@ Dyp: DYPY BOY! HELLO MY SEXY ASTRO CHUM! @ g0atmilk: Ah yes, the pose I selected really makes the guy look more menacing, sinister, and heaving with pride even, then the usual Chaos Marines you get these days, spasming and frothing from the mouth, waving their weapons in the air aimlessly. I have always figured that most Chaos Marines would be if anything more disciplined and skilled then any Loyalist Marine. With ten thousand years under their belts they should be extremely intelligent, experienced and know more tactics then you could shake a Codex Astartes at. So I wanted to reflect this in the model by making him look more like a great ancient noble of times long past instead of a arms in the air mad man. And everyone knows that the calmest one is often the greatest threat. feuer_faust
Looking good! The GS needs a bit of filing to keep it smooth, but that will probably come later. He still looks a little too skinny waist-wise, although overall he's lookin' good! g0atmilk
very true! you know, as they say, "in a time of darkness, turn to the blind man for help. in a time of madness, turn to the madman for guidance." or something like that.. i thought i had a point there but.. Alkana
Very cool. Is the front of the torso from a chaos terminator? And how did you make the collar? Terrible_Trygon
The front torso is a terminator chest plate with the top part cut off and glued to the top of the chest plate on it's side. Doghouse
Nice! :D It's a shame the LatD army went the way of the dodo because that's the best place to use truescale marines. They're looking great so far mate! I'll be watching this with interest. My Chaos Guard have been kitted out in a manner that allows them to use multiple army lists after all. Doghouse
That's a great idea mate, I was thinking of something along those lines as well. It'sa shame the special character for the alpha legion is specific to the scenario that he's in. It'd be great to see Astartes leading guardsmen again. I prefered the previous head, this helmet, for me, totally ruins the "Calm and Collected" Chaos Space marine feel, the massive grin just make me think madman... eesh... *shudders* Other than that, good model so far, looking forward to seeing the completed squad!
