Honda
I present to you, my brothers (at least to the loyalists, not you heretic scum), the beginnings of my armored horde. Alas, my photography skills are barely adequate enough, but I hope you get the idea. I went down to my local GW store (Katy Mills, thanx for letting me use your terrain) to try and take better shots. Of course, there was a price to be paid ("Tell the guy who painted those for you that he did a good job" - Raymond). I know, it's a harsh world out there. C&C greatly appreciated! Cheers, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161429-lpc-apocalypse-lords-landraiders/ Share on other sites
Montuhotep
Nicely done. - There's nothing I can see that would honestly require any improvement, save a response to Raymond. 'Thanks, I'll tell me that at the earliest opportunity.' Saevus Secutor
Well done, think they look smashing! Now I just have to get my hands on a couple of those Crusaders...and paint them yellow. Honda
did you use pgments for the mud effects? Yes, I used Mig pigments Russian Earth. I learned something about them after I did my Vindicators. My first go around, I just mixed the pigment with water and slathered (technical term) it around the recesses and cracks. The idea being that the moisture and dirt would collect near the low points. Everything was looking groovy. Then I sprayed them with a matte finish and most of the pigment area disappeared. I have no idea why. This time, I mixed some Future's in with the water and it did better, but still a lot of it just sort of faded away. So I went back over the areas again figuring that with Future's in the mix, it will hold up much better and not scrape off. since when did the color scheme of the apocalypse lords change into black? It didn't, but when I started thinking about painting vehicles, I just couldn't get my head around the half white/half black thing. Dreads seem to support the scheme quite well, but I just wasn't able to visualize vehicles. So without the vision, I decided to scale back the vehicle imagery and add icons that represent my chapter (e.g. the omega symbol). The upside is that they paint up a lot faster. B) Anyway, before too long, I will have some more squads to do and they will very prominently feature the half white/half black. Many thanx for the comments. Grand Master Iapetus
Excellent work as always - I don't remember any of these from the Apoc against the 77th, then again - you did have quite a few drop pods on that one... The Inquisition looks forward to working "with" you again in the future  Jeff Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161429-lpc-apocalypse-lords-landraiders/#findComment-1895976 Share on other sites
