Wolves and New Space Marine Codex

I haven't actually said that "I know lots, but have to keep it hush hush" or that I'm GW staff (I work in architecture, incidentally). People here seem to jump on you as soon as you open yer mouth about something (reminds me why I stopped coming over here. Can't be bothered with it to be honest).

The thing is brother, people will "jump on you" if you make blanket statements that you cannot back up, be it here or anywhere else.

Thats why it's often easier to just keep quiet about these things and leave people to speculate endlessly.

*edit* Never mind often, it is bloody easier.

Overall I think its a good book. My only real problem with it lies in the lack of faqqing things over for BT and DA and BA. Its sad.

I don't have a problem with it. I don't like it, and I know why BT, DA, and BA players don't like it. Yes, it doesn't make sense that a CML works differently in different armies. But, those codexes weren't set up with the current SM rules in mind. Porting it over to DA or BA isn't too bad, but in particular, BT would be hideous. As if giving everyone Preferred Enemy wasn't bad enough. BT get 2 heavy weapons in terminator squads. Their assault squads can replace their sidearm with a storm shield. It'd be pretty wicked.

That's a surprise? There are so many rumours running around if you say "it's coming but I can't say more" expect to have that treated with a big helping of salt, it's nothing against you, but we hear all sorts of nonsense and "leaked" information and often it comes down to "I heard it from a guy, who knows a GW store manager, who talked to his boss who was in a conference room with Phil Kelly last week..." and so on and so forth and it should be no surprise that people get jaded about that sort of thing.

Bah that's nothing, try a Deathwing Terminator Squad with Thunder Hammers and 3+ stormshields with Feel No Pain from a Deathwing Apothecary. Fearless, 2+/3+ & FNP... yea those guys are near indestructable.

I just realized...somehow this thread has surreptitously turned into a "when's the new codex coming?" thread.

I recommend immediately closing and all participants (including myself) summirarily beaten with the exterminatisock!

I smell chaos at work here!!

*Shoots all speculation with his brand spankin' new assault 2 str4 ap- combat shotgun from the new SM codex* Ok now that the speculation on OUR new codex is dead, lets go back to the topic at hand.

Vehicle and armory upgrades we get from the new SM codex is wonderful. I have a new tank hunting unit now that my Wolf Scouts can assault out of a 24" moving vehicle that can have it's own MM attached to it.....

Personally I could care less about what the vanilla marines do with their pretty upgrades, they are better for the Sons of Russ anyway!

When, exactly, did I say that? I pointed out that the EoT 13th company list is def going to be retired, then people start putting words in my mouth!

Fair enough, I've learnt my lesson here. I'll just have to stick to letting the normal group of people know whats what (when I get things - not all that often).
