SM Bike Squad weapons

Howdy everybody. I'm getting back into 40 after many years. I'm adding a couple of bike squads to my army (never had them before) and I'm at a loss on building them. I know the rulset now states that if a mini has a weapon listed in it's wargear it must be on the mini as well. So I'm looking over the stuff to build my bikes and I dont see their bolt pistols, plasma pistols, etc. I'm fine on the full gun part. I see a full plasma gun and melta gun. I just dont see the pistols they are supposed to have. Now I have abig ol bag of bit's from collected form over the years, and I could just stick them on there. It just looks like the mini's dont have spots for the pistols. So, my question is this: do bikers have to show the pistol version of the items? I dont see anything in the manual about it either. Sorry to bother everybody with this, and I did try to search for my answer. To make matters worse, I'm DA so I'm using my 4th edition manual with the new 5th rulebook and trying to understand the 5th SM manual as well. Thanks in advance for any help in the matter.

I think the WYSIWYG rule should be followed as much as possible. I play blood Angels and every space marine in the army has a bolt pistol, however the kits don't support this. My interpretation of the rule is that if it's not possible to do without spending to much money, and if it's something simple, it's ok. EX: Having marines with grenades and pistols without having them glued on = OK just tell your opponent! Giving a Marine a Missile Launcher while he has a Bolter on the model = WRONG! unless OK'd by your opponent.
Ok. It just seemed that if I wanted the sergeant to have a plasma pistol then it should be seen. More so than regualr bolt pistols since it uses different rules. Just wondering why the mini's didnt come with something (or made to support it) that the rules make you think you have to have. I'll admit that I was hoping to hear that I didnt have to model it as I need the few plasma pistols I have to mod my veterans and assault troops. I cant even use my assault's anymore as the all have hand flamers and power weapons. See as the new rules only allow one member of the squad to have a power weapon and hand flamers dont even exist anymore, that pretty much makes the worthless. So I'd rather use my pistols on them rather than the bikers. Thanks for the help. ^_^
generally, WYSIWYG rules are for special equipment - whatever the models have as standard equipment from the army list entry needs not be represented - so grenades, bolt pistols, etc... that are standard for a C:SM "marine" are optional to model. any upgrades (assault or heavy weapons, sgts, etc...) should be modeled uniquely at least, actually WYSIWYG wherever possible.
Look at your model and see if there is a holster, I have noticed that most SM models have a pistol holster somewere and normaly have all sorts of little bags and pouches, I normaly just say a pistol is in the holster and the model draws it when he wants to use it, and grenades are in the pouches. (though the models I have actualy DO have grenades)

You ought to model weapons that are upgraded or non standard. With the basic weapons you can be more relaxed, so stuff like the bolt pistols and grenades you don't need to worry too much about since everyone gets them automatically.

The point of WYSIWYG is to prevent people going "An now I use the plasmapistol/lascannon/powerfist, its in the sarges pocket so you couldn't see it"

Well, I uderstand the reasons for it. Since I'm new to bikesquads and lack the total number of plasma pistols to outfit them and my now useless jump marines, I have to decide where to put the, I'm gonna have to say they go on the jumps marines and make sure to tell my pal about the bikers before the game starts. When I have the time to remodel in then next few months, I'll buy some to stik on there, but these are the limitations I have to work with. I just didnt want to actualy break any rules. Thanks for the help.
