first named blood claw

to begin, i plan on naming every last one of my models, an ambitious plan i know, but hey, everything i do is stupid in some way

but anyway, recently a bloodclaw managed to survive an entire en masse assult by genestealers, the rest of his pack died, but he lived, so i decided to finish the lucky little bastard and give him a name(wait, am i allowed to say that on here?)

so now i need the help of you all, my venerable wolf brethren, cause i suck at making up names, also, if you have any idea of how to make a genestealer in to a trophy, id love a walkthrough

Eivind is a norse malename with origins in the urnorse name *Auja-winduR. Dhe first namelink is composed by auja which means <luck> or «gift». the other link winduR means «winner». Øyvind og Even has the same origin, but as you state, your cub is a lucky bastard, so Eivind should be a fitting name.

I never thought to name every marine. Usually I just name the HQ and maybe the vets. Good luck though!

You could always look into the old sagas. They are a great source for names. Or you could try to do what games workshop did with latin. Look online for a norweigen (sp) translator and combine the sounds to make a name.

I named my Wolf Priest Blekest ( blek = pale, hest = horse), and hell shall follow with him :D

Just a thought,

Better days,

I use my wife's 'a million and one names for your baby' book that gives the origin and meaning of the names. Its actually pretty fun to scan through. Pay special attention to celtic and norse names and you'll find some good stuff. You can also do a google search for the same thing. Naming characters is a ton of fun and adds alot to battles, I've discovered.

i went looking these name sites up too, i find that is is best to google search Old Norse Names, and you tend to get a good list and their meanings.

Eivind is a good one though.

if you can find one, there are a few bug heads on spikes out there that might work for your trophy.

I have done this with my army. Each and every model has a name, written on their base for ease of remembering. When my scouts killed the Nightbringer, only one survived. He has a huge axe and a big smile... so I called him Johnny. Another time one of my GH finished of a baneblade by clamping a meltabomb onto it... therefore I call him Clamps. Lastly I have a wolf guard with mark of the wulfen who never lives past turn 3... hence he is named Fodder. Just some ideas.

ok ive got a few ideas for genestealer trophies, ok try cutting off a hand and underneath the blood claws ccw mount it on a chanin or rope

you could have the head on a spike somewhere

or you could file of the boltpistol barell and then stick the head on the from of the pistol and then use greenstuff to stick the barrel out its mouth

also another idea you could have genestealer heads on the backpack were the vents are or you could get the genestealer body and file it down then put it on his chest of backpack or even on his knee

head on a spike... idealy i would go for something like what calgar had in his third ed codex picture, but that might be tricky... i wonder if theres any CSM trophy racks that would work
