Hapless
Ok this is my first time doing this kind of conversion. Normaly I think that any professional fighting body like space marines would maintain their equipment, and keep it in good fighting order. That and I paint and model my army for the Before battle not after battle. So while the rest of my Blood Angels will be a nice rich red, I'm left with the death company in black. Who I think should look shot to hell, and their armor shouldn't have any new parts. These guys are suicide troops. They want to die in battle so they can go out in a blaze of glory, while still themselves. I don't see the blood angels spending much resource on fixing up the armor beyond basic functionality, or anything like that. After all why bother. So to that extent I look a hobby knife to a 10 man squad of asault marines and started putting diverts, digs, hacks, cracks, and cuts into their armor. Below are some photos I've taken. Please any comments or advice you have to offer would be greatly welcomed. I've taken some pictures and will atempt to filter out the worst. All of these were taken using a 2mp cellphone camera without digital zoom. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0034.jpg http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0035.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0036.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0037.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0038.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0039.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0040.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0041.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/mormonmenoth/myminis/Blood%20Angels/SSPX0042.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161761-brother-haplesss-new-death-company/ Share on other sites
Algavinn
Pics are too small, all I can tell is that they are CC equipped marines. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161761-brother-haplesss-new-death-company/#findComment-1900325 Share on other sites
FuriousFerret
I see tiny, blurry pics of what I take to be CC-armed marines. Beyond that I am unable to comment.... Hapless
When I get home I'll try again. Maybe a better camera might work. Barring that I'll try for better pics. I shrank them to make them clearer. I could see more detail on the thumb nail I thought that might help. Barring new pics, I'll try to edit in something to make things easyier to spot. Alys Dwr
A 2mp camera without zoom should manage decent pics. Take the photo from a bit further away so that they focus properly and then crop the image to reduce the amount of un-used space on the image. If you haven't got software to do this you can do it through photobucket by editing the image directly - quite a useful function! Photobucket also allows you to re size image to a board appropriate 800x600 if your images happen to be larger, i don't get why people don't use these free functions to make life easier for all! :P I don't see the blood angels spending much resource on fixing up the armor beyond basic functionality, or anything like that hmmm..... that gets me thinking. Not knowing much of the BA fluff, but when a marine falls to the rage/thirst do they swap into an old DC suit of power armour or are they simply pinned down whilst their current armour is re-sprayed black? If the later then surely they would look shiny and prety until you unleash them for their "suicide" mission. Maybe with some paint and color on it, it will help reinforce the details. I don't exactly know how to high light black so this is going to be fun. Plus I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to leave the damged areas black, or if I should maybe do them in boltgun metal and lighlight the outside of the dents, and gouges to make them look higher.
