Where did you get all of these models? Are they converted or from some other place?

Noiw thats what I'm talkin' about, a tech-army would be damn popular for W40k's next army! I like the models, and the feel they have along the lines of mistaking some of them for Quake4 Strogg. (Which has inspired me to do drop pod turrets in VDR) For anyone who likes this stuff I suggest looking at some Quake4 Youtube gameplay vids. Very inspiring.

Many techpriest and servitor models are from the early 90's GW model range (now no more available). I'm now really lucky, that i could afford these.

The set of Magos+ 4x techpriests and 2x servitor were part of a present for ordering in the US, if u ordered a nice sum and get the amount of 100 Skulls:

Costed me around 100$ at ebay. And are one of me centrepieces. Now no more available.

The other models were mostly converted:

Base Models Guards with parts of the necron range and Necromunda gladiator range.

Regular models more than, irregulars. The skitarii recived the most attention with additional backpacks, armour, weapons and replacement limbs.

Other model range were from rezolution for luminen (but i would now use flagelants) or dark brotherhood (could be warzone) for some techy hooded models.

The preatorians are mostly made from Iron Hands legs, techmarine main body, marine heads with respirators and much green stuff, and gladiator weapons.

The support weapons are mostly land raider side sponsons and plasmacannon + plasticard. The parts are no more to get from GW, because part service down.

The rapier were too part of the early 90's, but my ones are from a special necromunda army (ash waste ganger). No more available. I think at the moment it is very hard to get the parts to convert models. But look at my robot/sentinel (many things are possible).

Im very eager to use my robot/Sentinel with plasmacannon for my IG.

Some of u know the book "Dark Adeptus" which gave me the inspiration for the mechanical hand. + I needed a Box of the Pandora für my Magos Epimetheus and his Pandora expedition (for the less educated: the greek saga of the Box of the Pandora. The guardian of the box was the mate of Pandora, he had the name Epimetheus).

They are really nice. I've heard lots of people talk about starting an AdMec army, but very few people actually do it. I like the techno-slaves, and the very smooth red all across the army. The tanks are even cooler, really well highlighted.

The Knight is total custom. No Forgeworld. Landraider weapons mostly (spare parts from my tarantulas).

Thats one great army.... Really nicely thought out!

 

One thing Im not sure about is the electro priests, kinda looks like they are firing sperm.... Maybe thats just me though ;p Having said that lightning is VERY hard to do so nice attempt.

 

 

Edit: I just noticed that the knight doesnt have a lance... Thats kinda the thing that really characterised them in the fluff so you might want to consider changing one of the arms... Its such a nice conversion its a shame to have it armed improperly.

Never thought about that.

 

Knight have a wide array of weapons. The laser-lance is one. I prefered the Knight-Battlecannon because it looked similar to a lance and in this configuration i'm able to field the Knight as a Leman Russ (but maybe with the new codex...).

 

In the next days i hope to present some new Admech-models for my guards (Thunderer, Ordenance-officer, etc.)

+ I will post a translation of my backround-story.

Statement from the diary of the Questor Tech Priest Magos Epimetheus (origin of the diary unknown):

 

"… For centuries I have been on the search for the world now known as Pandora. The search was laborious for every small bit of information about this legendary world, which was lost during the age of strife. There it is and I have found it. It is said a world, which could bring us back the sacred knowledge of the Omnissiah, just like the sacred STC. How and why the world was lost, we don't know, but we have found her and perhaps also will discover this secret."

 

"… We have landed. I have sent out the first scanner-servitors and my remaining employees set up our camp nearby a sea of debris. Alleged the whole planet was of indescribable beauty and the buildings were gigantic. Nothing more has remained of this beauty. Our place to land lies in the middle of an ash desert and the remaining part of the world doesn't look different either. Dry and burned. My safety adviser seems to be nervous, since he has ordered to take a part of the troops, who are at my disposal, to the planet. My opinion is, this isn't necessary, but I trust his opinion. We will check the results of the servitors tomorrow."

 

„... One of the servo skulls has apparently got rich. Have a reprimand assigned the to tech supervisor for the poor quality of the pictures. It is at first sight of an intact facility. The facilities had similarity to a rocket silo, as far as we could see. We couldn't recognize more. We will travel tomorrow with a small group of my retinue to the facility."

 

The notes are only pieced together as of here:

"…have arrived... The end of a long journey is to reach end… are now already since hours at work to open the seal without success. My dig expert has suggested proceeding now with heavy equipment. I hesitate at this for a moment. Why has one made the entrance so difficult for us? Then I agree and they make them self to the work … Made! The seal is broken and the gates can be opened? A darkly lead, which leads interminably to below. I think I see a light."

 

One only finds horrified cries and occasional shots of laser and boltweapons on the note as of here. Then silence. Tech-Priest Magos Epimetheus and his retinue remain missing.

What codex do you use for playing this army? I have wanted to do an admech army but I am never sure what codex to use for them.

I used the "inofficial" Codex from Tim Huckelberry (US GW Staff). I downloaded my version (End 2006) at yahoo.gropus adeptus mechanicus forum. But this site is no longer available (who knows why, maybe GW shut this site down). T.H. published a similar/older list and a symbio-cult list in one of the last issues of the Citadell-Journal (not really sure, got no copy. And no more available). For me it is the completest list, because it got all elements of the Admech and is no fan-made-powergaming-list (ok the preatorians are hard). Out there are much harder interpretation of Luminen and preatorians. On 3 tournaments i used this list with my army (with restrictions). Weapons emplacemts must be placed in squads etc.. As result i mostly got a negative victorypoints ratio (for me it showed the weakness of the list). I won mostly of the missions. But at the end i won mostly the style (1-2th place) and much paint (2th-3rd place). And this is the coolest. I will see, if i can post the list.
