Skirax
Hello all. I have recently started a Pre-Heresy army for the Tempus Fugutives campiagn weekend found here: www.tempusfugutives.com and search for the 'Age of the Emperor' campaign pack. Anyway, I have about 5 Assualt Marines, Khârn and a Thunder Rhino (in the campaign pack). I am starting a Mk IV Dreadnought and I have found on Forge World this resin(?) model: I have also found an arm for it too: This is basically used as the Dreadnought Close Combat weapon and has a Flamer attached if you look closely. My friend recently said to me however that dreadnoughts frm the Mk IV stage had a gun hand holding an actuall gun instead of the massive box with a coupla turrets sticking out that we see today. I'm not disagreeing with him, I totally believe him. But how would I go about making one? Do I us a Terminator arm? do i remove the Terminator forearm and stick it to the Dreadnought box? How? If anyone has some pictures I could follow, it would be incredibly appreciated. Vassakov
Didn't realise you could go to Tempus - I think it's 16+ As for the Dread, I'll bring my Mk IV in sometime. It's got that arm and all. Leonaides
Keep looking on FW - they also have MKIV gun arms up there. They're basically the same as the normal dreadnought arms, but the shoulder mounting is a bit different. Is it possble that your friend might have been thinking og some of the really old RT era dreadnoughts (the fury, etc...)? You might be able to find one or two of them on ebay, but they always seem to go for mucho dollar so I wouldnt worry about it if I were you. Captain Engelhardt
Is this the kind of thing you're after ? It's my Night Lords PH Dreadnought. http://sites.google.com/site/tabletopstuff/_/rsrc/1234696779345/Home/DSCF0691.JPG It's loosely based on this artwork: http://www.pa-sy.com/hhccg/images/aesir.jpghttp://www.pa-sy.com/hhccg/images/bakhart.jpghttp://www.pa-sy.com/hhccg/images/seraphis.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161942-mk-iv-dreadnought/#findComment-1902854 Share on other sites
Skirax
Woah man, while that loooks awesome, to me it looks to robotic, like a skeleton with fleshless arms. So I could use the Mk IV Dreadnought as shown above and normal arms? Mk IV Dreadnoughts had some proper claws, like with massive machettes for fingers. Imagine itching your bum with those nippers! Yow! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161942-mk-iv-dreadnought/#findComment-1902880 Share on other sites
Captain Engelhardt
Yeah, ok, if you want to go with MkIV, my examples were unfitting, sorry :D But still..(following the artwork) I don't think that there were any Mk IV Dreads around in the PH era. I'd say grab your bits and modelling tools and make yourself a unique Dread on your own! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161942-mk-iv-dreadnought/#findComment-1902975 Share on other sites
Noserenda
The CCG art tends to favour that kind of dread, but the 40k range and fluff says MkIV was the standard pre heresy. Ofc they could both be right... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161942-mk-iv-dreadnought/#findComment-1904020 Share on other sites
Zopha
I think the artwork was the next step after the walking turd that was the Rouge Trader dread. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=154342 They kinda look similar or at least are similar design wise to each other. There's no Dreadnoughts through the ages article is there? Like the astartes armour through the ages. Skirax
There's no Dreadnoughts through the ages article is there? Like the astartes armour through the ages. Though that would make for an interesting article... Thanks, I think I might do that, with your permission of course.
