Disembarking from a Crusader

Recommended Posts

Okay, I have 15 figures on 25mmm bases: how do I set them up so that all of the figures are no more than 2" from the hull?

This is the best I can work out:

FFFF

FFFFF

S BB S

S AA S

"F" are the ones in front of the Crusader.

"B" are the ones between the tracks, in front of the assault ramp.

"S" are the ones on the outer sides of the tracks.

"AA" is the assault ramp.

Is there a better way to do this? (I can see why measuring from the edge of the ramp of easier!)

Thanks!

Don't forget, the base doesn't have to wholly be within 2", just part of it. That gives you a bit more room. I don't think you measure from the egde of the ramp, but from the hull. The lowered ramp is not hull. It is a ramp. :)

That would be correct, good sir!

Now, just let me find these diagrams someone made and posted a while bak, for just this reason...

Well LR's and LRC's have more than just one access point. You also have the side hatches. With the 'terminator sized' bases, even side hatches modeled in the back slots allow for a base to overlap the range from side and front hatches. the coherency distance allows smaller based units to hit both hatches and still be coherent with each other. (I'm looking for it. was either here or on warseer. I know I posted in the thread, so I;m just going through my older posts)

-edit- Heh.. was wrong. It was on 40konline... Anyways...

(courtesy of 'sindarin'. Now, I've no idea how presice their measurements actually are. And measurements for sponsons weren't included. Os it's not as thurough as it could have been. But, it's a good rough idea, at the least.)

(LR specifically)

(any side hatches)

Oh! I was under the impression that you had to choose one access point, not that all of the access points were available! Now that I look closer to the diagrams, I can see were I was limiting my options incorrectly.

Thank you!

I thought you had to choose 1 access point as well...

So was I, when I started this thread. However, I just noticed in the picture on pg 67 of the BRB, that of the 5 marines disembarking from the Rhino, 3 are within the rear exit arc, 1 is within the left hand exit arc, and 1 is within both arcs. As such, the line that reads, "each model is deployed within 2" of one of the vehicle's access points" could be taken to mean that all access point are fair game for embark/disembark as long as unit cohesion is maintained.

This doesn't really help my situation all that much, as I'm mounting my hurricane bolters on the front mounting points, which may put the back points too far away to be in coherency. Or not. I'm still planning on using the assault ramp access point for the deployment, I'm just trying to figure out were to put 15 figures when they do deploy! The diagrams above are an excellent help. Thank you!
