Crazy Eight
ok so ive been having a go at making an ironclad dreadnought for my redscorpion army and i just wanted to ask my fellow brothers what you think http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll160/maddog7558/PICT0963.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll160/maddog7558/PICT0964.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll160/maddog7558/PICT1002.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll160/maddog7558/PICT1003.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll160/maddog7558/PICT1000.jpg sorry for the poor attempt at photography not all that good with a camera lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161954-ironclad-my-go-at-1/ Share on other sites
Combat_Vet
I really really like that fist. I may have to "borrow" that for my next dread :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161954-ironclad-my-go-at-1/#findComment-1902611 Share on other sites
Alys Dwr
The new plastic hurricane bolters do seem like the obvious choice but in my opinion the are just too big for a dreadnought. I think the gaps between each bolter should be smaller; this will make the unit more compact and it will sit better on the dread. I like your chain fist and the armour looks worthy of AV13. The melta does seem a touch too long to me though - maybe loose the section between the grip and heavy flamer back. Then it's just the legs. They look fine as they are, not out of place at all but i think the shin armour should have some sort of reinforcements to bring it up to par with the sarcophagus. The concept is brilliant though and you have executed it well so far. orphanfeast99
what did you armor the torso with? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161954-ironclad-my-go-at-1/#findComment-1903166 Share on other sites
GearBoxClock
As said, the Hurricane bolters are too far apart, and the Melta is too big. Pretty good though. I would add some symbols to the front armour as well though, as it looks kinda plain Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161954-ironclad-my-go-at-1/#findComment-1903176 Share on other sites
Mortifis
I believe the armour is made from the Imperial Guard tank accessory kits track guards. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/161954-ironclad-my-go-at-1/#findComment-1903228 Share on other sites
Drac0
I believe the armour is made from the Imperial Guard tank accessory kits track guards. Ditto. It does look like it. As for the dreadnought it looks good, but as it was said it looks too bulky on the top half. Perhaps making the legs bulkier (extra armour ?) is a good idea. Crazy Eight
yes the top armour is the guards from a basilisk . im a bit stuck on what to use for leg armour i cant find anything curved enough to go around the legs to look like it belongs there as opposed to looking like ive just thrown them on with some glue if that makes sense . ive still got lots to do as in detail work and armour on the back and add the missile pods and stuff but it is a prototype . thanks for the comments il try and update it soon .
