Still trying to make sense of True Grit

As far as I know Pelt's still work, there's nothing that contradicts them unless I'm forgetting something.

And Power Fists? Heck ya! IMO there should always be at least 1 PF in a SW unit, you never know when you'll need those str 8 attacks, whether fighting Dreadnaughts, Monsterous Creatures, Multi-Wound models or Characters, they almost always come in handy where Power Weapons are nice but I never see them do quite the damage my Fists do.

Maybe i give it to the Wolf Guard. That way i can get more attacks from it.

Depends, Pack Leaders are still buirried and are actually better with the Power Fists and a Wolf Tooth Necklace so they are hitting on 3's and wounding on 2's really puts those attacks to best use but Power Weapons on them work decently too depending on what you want, I still prefere Fists.

So how many attacks would a dual lightning claw dude get, on charge and counter? 5?

Depends, if it's a Battle Leader he would get 6 attacks on the Charge (4 base, +1 for 2 CCW, +1 for Charge) and 7 on the Counter-Charge (4 base, +1 for 2 CCW, +1 for Counter-Charge if Leadership Passed, +1 for Wolf Pelt) as far as I can tell.

Is there any GW refrence on does Blood claws does get the + 2 attack instead of 1 for counter charging ? also Grey hunters have no attacks on extra attack during counter attacks with their bolter's right ?

On the Bloodclaws all it is is rules as written. The rule for countercharge states you get the +1 bonus as if you had charged. The bloodclaw rules state that you replace the +1 bonus for charging with a +2. Simple.

Grey Hunters dont get the extra attack if you arm them with bolters, correct. However if they are armed with a powerfist you can elect not to use true grit and instead take the +1 attack. Since you determine this at the time of the attack you can see if you get your counterattack first... and thus if the squad doesnt use true grit theyll all get +1 A, and thus everyone including the powerfist will get 2 attacks total.

However if they are armed with a powerfist you can elect not to use true grit and instead take the +1 attack

This is because of the new 5th edition rules regarding powerfists and something right? I'm not completely clear on that.

Power fists are the one way that true grit can be robbed from our GH's in a beneficial way. Since, with things like power fists or thunder hammers under 5th ed, you must have a PAIR to gain the extra attack, no one with a bolter and a PF will get 2 attacks, except on the charge (where you always get it). This is why a lot of players elected to go with power weapons (myself not included). That being said, you WILL get 2 attacks w/ a PF/bolter if you pass your countercharge Ld test, as it counts as charging (see above).

He cannot assault in the same turn that he fires because a bolter is not an assault weapon or a pistol.

I thought bolters were assault weapons. When did this change?

Bolters have been Rapid Fire Weapons since 3rd Edition...

Earnestly so lunch box, earnestly so.

Long story short bolters give you an extra attack but in return you dont get a charge or countercharge bonus. You can opt not to use them just like any other close combat weapon with a special rule.

Anything else to beat into the young ones heads?
