Black Legion attidude towards Horus

The Black Legion are very individualistic so I'd say among the legion opinions of Horus range from veneration down to abject hatred over the situation they currently find themselves in.

yeah i agree with that and it's probably the main reason the legion splintered more than any other after the heresy.

Couldnt agree more, Some are probably with Abby and think he was a wuss, and some would agree with my Sig and see him as the ultimate matyr for humanity. And everything in between.

Actually this has already been discussed previously.

But it's not certain Abby TRULY hates Horus. Far from. He did the 'denouncing of Horus' thing out of necessity more than anythign else i think.

I can definately see your point here Thane. I think denouncing Horus could be political maneuvering.

Like others have said i think there individualistic. - The Black Legion being a coalition of warbands, it generally depends on the warband. I imagine some still almost worship him as the great warmaster who sacrificed himself for humanity (:P) - similar to the way the Blood Angels revere Sanguinius, who made the ultimate sacrifice to buy the Emperor time.

And yea it could logically be a political move but i think Abaddons quote:

"Horus was weak, Horus was a fool, he had the whole galaxy within his grasp and he let it slip away" represents his true feelings - he could easily feel that Horus failed, as he did, therefore why revere him anymore? :P

By denouncing Horus failings he puts himself not only as heir to his post as warmaster but as an able if not better strategist and leader, not specifically renouncing to Horus' greatness, he was a primarch after all.

So he and the Legion pay respect to their fallen primarch but he is recognised as the actual warmaster and the supreme lord. In fact Abaddon not only says it, but confirms he is a master strategist, maybe the greatest one in Imperium history (he's been in charge since the heresy, and then he was already first captain of the warmaster).
