Ok, so i'm sure i'm not the only person in the world who has a theme song for their army (my great companies is Amaranth by Nightwish). i know it is kinda lame, but i always listen to it when i'm working on them, and i like to listen to it before i throw down with them. so i guess i'm wondering if anyone else has any music that they find inspiring for their armies.

i listen to mostly anything when i play, althought my favorite was when i was playing a guy who thought "SW were chaos, not imperial(and not just because we were playing a game, he really just doesn't like SW)", and we were listening to the "300" sound track, there was little ore i could think of then my wolves as spartens, kicking the crap out of the other marines.

another song comes to mind when i read about how all space wolves must fight the beast in side, and that is "the sound of madness" by shinedown, i feel it is fitting to what they are going through.

Amon Amarth for me, SW and viking death metal. oh yes.

Finally the storm arrives

Our wait is at an end

Under dark winter skies

We make our final stand

For each of us, there are four of them

It matters not to us

We won't leave this field in shame

We are here to crush!

From 'With Oden on our side'

Manowar or Turisas do it for me.

With Manowar I listen to Swords in the Wind, Call to Arms and Warriors of the World.

With Turisas, it's Holmgard and Beyond, Five Hundred and One or Cursed be Iron.

I may be a weird one here, butI finding playing classical music fits a battle theme. I listen to the WoW soundtrack that came with the collectors edition of WoW. I don't play wow, I got it from a friend for like, 30 bucks worth 75 haha. Ironforge's theme song is quite fitting for an army theme.

I like power metal with my wolves. A song that I feel particularly engaging before a battle is "Legend of Steel" by Luca Turilli... If I play a game after hearing it, I often find myself mumbling this part while deciding on strategy:

And so the day came... son against father

Clash of their weapons at the crash of thunder

Hard was the fight in that unholy night

So red the ice was never

The sword and the shield the power of the steel

To win the mask of hell

For the proud Sons of Russ...

Amon Amarth, ManoWar, Of Wolf and Man by Metallica, Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon, and my personal favorite... I don't wanna stop by Ozzy. Shoot me, *grabs Storm Shield and hides behind it* but there's something about being "over the top" and "going to go to the drop" and "I don't wanna stop" that just screams the uber-bad assness of the Space Wolves Legion.

*headbangs to Ozzy*

Edit: I forgot Curse of the Werewolf and Return of the Werewolf, both by Timeless Miracle.

*goes back headbanging*

I must be the odd one I guess. I listen to Motorhead when I build and paint. But I need Enya or Moya Brennan (sp) to get into "battle mode". :D

I can't listen to Harry's Song without trying to punch someone.

Better days,

Actually Enya is pretty good, though I find lacuna Coil particularly good.

Awesome. i see a lot of Amon Amaroth, Manowar, and some Turisas (going with the whole fantasyish, nordic feel). i think thats awesome. i actually picked up some Amon Amaroth, and Turisas today, and can totally see why my wolf brothers dig it, totally has that feel of going into battle, and got me really pumped up. anywolf, another one i like to listen to before a battle is Far Away Coast by the Dropkick Murphys (though really anything by them is good) as i find it helps me get into the mind set, just like nightwish does. anywolf, thanks again guys for posting

@ 200plus, i must say that i've been known to listen to Sigur Ros before i play my kroot, or go hunting. for some reason it makes me want to kill and eat things. so i can understand how music will sometimes conjure strange feelings in you.
