Wing_Knight
Hey everyone i am just wondering if and how any of you have tried to model a Nurgle daemon prince with wings, i am thinking of getting into daemons but am more then a bit confused on how to go about converting this one, i am not that great with gs btw, though i suppose i could try to get better won 3 feet of the stuff on ebay lol (p.s. been trolling and noticed they are popular anouther reason why i asked) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162138-nurgle-dp-with-wings/ Share on other sites
Brother Barkus
I've seen some fantasy dragon models with the wings you're thinking of. Also, forgeworld may have something but I'm not sure. Raptor1313
You could also go with modeling an upsized jump pack. I've tried scratch-building wings before, and it's a royal pain. GW sells Balrog wings directly, and they're huge. I'd look at somewhere like the War Store for bits, and probably just get wings separately. skryeguy1
the plastic high elf dragon wings from WHF fit in the slots on the nurgle dp's back. You'll have to sacrifice those smoke stack thingers or w/e they are but its a perfect fit. Took a whole 2 minutes and no painful pewter wings! Captain Malachi
Yeah, the plastic dragons wings are pretty much the standard if you don't want to do too much modelling, though they might need a little bit of converting to seem more Nurgly. nurgling6688
I used the Tomb Kings Carrion wings on mine, they look pretty nurgley, not to hard to put on either. Cut out the middle ection between the wings, get some superglue, some insta set and just a little green stuff (shouldnt be too many gaps). the arms and stuff should help keep them in place too. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02645.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02646.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162138-nurgle-dp-with-wings/#findComment-1905668 Share on other sites
Ju'kosian
I've got some pics of my winged DP's Undivided dp with "plastic dragon" wings http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/jungkoo/Frankrijk014.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/jungkoo/Frankrijk015.jpg DP with Zombie dragon wings http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/jungkoo/Frankrijk016.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/jungkoo/Frankrijk017.jpg and the final one, DP with "winged nightmare" wings http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/jungkoo/Frankrijk018.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/jungkoo/Frankrijk019.jpg PLastic dragon wings are the easiest to apply.. As you can see I've just put the other on with some greenstuff.. Wing_Knight
I am just curious but how much trouble would i get in if i used one of these as my nurgle DP? in say a GW tournament http://www.ultraforgeminiatures.com/plaguedemon.html reason why i ask is they look great (check the other ones) and they sell a pair of wings that goes on them easily Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162138-nurgle-dp-with-wings/#findComment-1906389 Share on other sites
Raptor1313
Usually, as long as a decent chunk of the mini is Citadel in origin, they won't care. I think the number's at least 50%, maybe 66%. Also, if it looks cool? chances are they'll be a bit more accomodating. Another option is to look in hobby stores for plastic birds. My Fateweaver conversion features some, and I should really get a pic of that guy up sooner or later. Wing_Knight
Well from what i understand from their website none of the model would be Citidel but it does look absolutely amazing... and cheap too compared to Forgeworld which is what i would compare it to. The company is a small one in Canada they only sell like 11 models all bigger ones and i swear they are taking their ideas from GW lol especially the Greater Plague Daemon lol looks very akin to the Forgeworld one. I mean chances are i wont even use my daemons (if i get them) in a serious GW run tournament i have my deathwing/eldar/SW for that but i would prefer if it was legal or had a good chance of it just in case. Here is the Plague Daemon aka DP http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo288/Wing_Knight/plaguewings1.jpg and the Greater PlagueDaemon aka Greater Deamon of Nurgle http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo288/Wing_Knight/greaterplaguedemon2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162138-nurgle-dp-with-wings/#findComment-1906407 Share on other sites
Raptor1313
Ah...ok, I was thinking you might just order the wings separately. Otherwise? No, don't order a hefty non-Citadel, non-Forge-World mini and expect them to let you play it. It's better safe than sorry. Captain Malachi
They definately take their ideas from GW though, that blurred out bit on the second pic is where they got in trouble for using the Nurgle symbol. Sufficed to say, great models for a friendly, not legal for a tourny, best to have a backup. You could use the wings on a GW model though.
