soshuro_tenchi
I was thinking about how to paint the beserkers in my Iron Warriors army. My favorite idea was to paint them in the regular IW colors except for the head and shoulders so it would give something like that: I will use beserkers minis, but I will give them IW shoulders pads on one side and use the khorne iconography on the other. I will also trim the bunny ears. Is that a good idea? How do you people make your beserkers in army other than Black Legion? Vodunius
I'd spread the red around a bit like the old studio Emperors Children squad (they were black with the shoulderpads and 3 other pieces of armour painted pink - but which other pieces would vary from marine to marine) I'd keep the bunny ears, as to my knowledge they are a representation of the Icon of Khorne rather than a World Eater icon. chillin
Yea, I would do something like you have on your picture, just the helmit & shoulderpads in red or just the chest plate. I would not make too much of it red as the are IW that worship khorne, not the other way around. I would not use the bunny ears b/c I think they are silly looking. BrotherLoki
How about painting them in your normal Iron Warriors colours, but then having them splattered in gore to show that they literally wade into the enemy. Paint blood effect on their weapons and arms, and flick it on the rest of them - a bit like the 'eavy metal Ogre Kingdoms army for WFB. In Storm of Iron that's pretty much how Krueger's berzerkers are described. Drudge Dreadnought
Yeah, do what the others are saying if they are Iron Warriors that have gone berserk. But if they are world eaters that have been recruited by your iron warriors then go with your original idea. In Storm of Iron that's pretty much how Krueger's berzerkers are described. This is exactly what I do with my Black Legion Berzerkers. It works really well, actually. It keeps them nicely in the theme of the rest of the army, but the blood spatter gives them an overall-redish appearance, which sets them apart just enough to be easily recognizable. I might post pictures later, when I get home. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162161-beserkers-colors/#findComment-1905837 Share on other sites
Mutt-Man!
I second(third?) the opinion of existing legions being covered in their patrons allegiance rather then being equipped with their allegiance. Glowing icons of their patrol splitting the armor like sores, gore/pestilence gaping and covering the marine in addition. Or rather, a type of smoke or heraldy simply carried by the belt, trophie racks and other adornments. I play pure legion and I use the red gloup gore used on halloween face painting to glaze over a few parts of my zerks. Stays shiny all year 'round, I forget the brand I used though.
