-Brutus-
Hi, This is my first army and I'm a incredibly slow painter. This is the progress I've made so far. I think I'm improving slowly as I learn new techniques 'n stuff. I try to convert every miniature a little bit to make the army more unique. Enjoy http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar1.jpg First one, mostly trying out the colours scheme here. Not very original but I was satisfied back then. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar2.jpg I accidently gave this guy a layer of Glossy-"somfin". And now he's quite... erm glossy! http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar3.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar4.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar5.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar6.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar7a.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar7b.jpg better angle of the previous guy. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Oplit1.jpg I just couldn't take my fingers of the heavy stuff.... I originally planned to paint him later when I got more exp. :) http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/MarHB1.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Champion1sharpened.jpg Champion nr 1 http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/champ1b.jpg ...and nr 2 http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Mar8.jpg I started experimenting whit glowing things on this one... http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/MarHB2.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/MarAC.jpg I was quite happy with the "glow"-effect on his eyes http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/MarLC.jpg And another go.. green glow this time http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/DSC_0036resize.jpg Terminator nr1 http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/DSC_0048resize-1.jpg another angle.. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/ Share on other sites
-Brutus-
Here's something more I wanted to show you. I've never managed to get the weathering right on my marines therefore I tried it out on this one. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Weather1.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Weather2.jpg Grey is probably my favorite colour since it is easy to work with and to combine with other colours. Sadly this guy simply dissapeared from my desk a while ago and I cannot find him. I think my cat is responsible for this but I have no evidence ^_^ Oh plz note I know the glowthing looks white bad here it looks more like eyeliner/shade. He's out patrolling in full make-up.. Hubernator
My god I love those poses on your Chaos Marines. The guy with the bolt pistol pointing out is radical *makes off with the pose ninja style * Seriously, I love the effects on them too. Excellent painting. And for the record, being slow is not a bad thing :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/#findComment-1905844 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
your chaos marines are amazing they look like they'd be on a movie poster (something about the lighting) and the poses are so dynamic, especially the one with the pointing pistol! Ompfris
the weathering and mudding on your marine looks really good - not over the top at all. and is your cat is to blame for your marine going missing you should open him up and get the proof you need! (joke!... don't really do it  ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/#findComment-1905880 Share on other sites

-Brutus-
Thanks everybody for your comments :) I really appreciate it! and is your cat is to blame for your marine going missing you should open him up and get the proof you need! (joke!... don't really do it ) http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Isa1.jpg REVENGE!! awesome poses and i love the paint job on that marine. what chapter? are there others like him ? if so when do we see more of them? Thank you. He was just something I tried out so there are no others (not even him anymore). But since I liked how the grey looked there might be once I'm finished with this army :( How are you getting such a nice consistent glow? Whenever I try it comes out a little to dark. I read this guide http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/288 and this http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/106 So basically I paint green glow with a basecoat of darkangels green, then snot green, goblin green, scorpion green and finally a mix of scorpion green and white. The surroundings are painted with VERY thin scorion green and snot green. "higher" points get more paint. A good thing to do is to add a little drop dishwashing liquid to the thinned paint to break the surface tension. This way the paint goes more where you want it to be :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/#findComment-1907351 Share on other sites
-Brutus-
Btw this is what I'm working on now. I have a few projects going on, but right now I'm building my Dreadnought. I used the loyalist version since I don't like the chaos 1, it's old and metallic. I hate metall. So now I'm trying to build new arms for it using bits and plasticard. The arms are magnetized so and so is the front. I might change it later. The legs are from a sentinel and cut off because he looked really goofy when they were longer. The legs aren't glued yet. I've planned to make long hanging mags for the heavy bolters a rather time consuming task. What do you think of it so far? And what pose should he be in? I originally planned to make him running but this means I'll have to make him lean forward a bit and I don't like the thought of that. It will pretty much hide the front. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Dread1.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Dread2.jpg oh nad if you look in the lower right corner you can see what I planned to be his cc-weapon. But perhaps it's a little bit big!? Also I want to make a claw for each foot, raptor-style. what do you think? -Brutus-
I'm getting quite tired of the red colour scheme.. and I always plan new armies so I said to myself: go for it. So now I'm more into a ironwarriors force but with as little metallics as possible. Also I will use "counts as"-cult troops since I do not belive in gods :) atm I'm working on a Berzerker. They will be some kind of cyborg shocktroops with stim packs and similar. Here's a quick sketch of the first one: http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Berzerkersketch.jpg I will upload the wip pics of him asap... -Brutus-
http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Berzerker1wip.jpg his right arm will be replaced (I'll kepp the axe). There's still a lot to do...... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/#findComment-1937996 Share on other sites
-Brutus-
And here's todays progress: http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Berzerker11wip.jpg I sculpted the kneecaps, removed the khorne symbol and sculpted the right arm. I still isn't ready though, I need to add some muscles ;) http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Berzerker12wip.jpg Also I started with his left hand. I'm not shure if this will work since the fingers have to be quite thin. I don't want him look like he's having hotdog-fingers. Well, I'll see when I start to sculpt them. C & c is greatly appreciated B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/#findComment-1938576 Share on other sites
daemon*hunter
Looks Nice, although i would have kept the non-GS arm though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/#findComment-1938630 Share on other sites
-Brutus-
Looks Nice, although i would have kept the non-GS arm though. Thx :) Yeah. the angle was better but I don't like the berzerker hand. -Brutus-
I wish my first army looked like that! *Jealous* Thx m8  Todays progress: http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr193/Brutus85_photo/Berzerker13wip.jpg Right arm is now done but i9s in need of some cabling. Axe is attached but the handle needs to be sculpted. Additional plating on the legs added. I noticed he's gaining some weird proportions, therefore I will enlargen his torso a little bit. And of course the fingers on his left hand needs to be done. Constructive critics are very welcome. This is my most modified marine so far and I could use some opinions. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162185-various-chaos-renegades/#findComment-1949069 Share on other sites
