I like the scouts the best

However I think scout bodies instead of guard one would look better and be more appropriate.

Some of your red is darker then others also your red is very thick and your marines seem to dull into a red blob with bone or gold thrown in.

Hope you don't take this the wrong way, just some constructive critiscism!

I do like your commander though, very shiny!

Good luck and keep at it :)

I just realized I want to see a captain designed after the DoW Dark Crusade Blood Ravens force commander. With the sculpter shoulders, pauldrons, gauntlets, the hammer and plasma pistol. Not the stupid unfluffy meltagun or teleporter backpack.

thank you, i know it seems a bit thick but its actually watered down and painted in 3 layers over a black under coat, idk why it comes out so thick. i just don't feel like repainting it all

actually i have a teleporter backpack lol, got rid of it when i made him into a pedro kantor clone (i like his rules is all)

they are pretty much done now, well the painted ones atleast

Okay, I think you've got a good start to a force and while the painting needs some work, everyone has to start somewhere...

1) The Red. It's not thick as other people have posted. You've watered it down too much. It is building up in the recesses as opposed to the raised surfaces so it comes off as thick and it also removes any amount of depth the models have naturally since the recesses are lighter than the raised surfaces. To fix this, mix up some red but don't watter it down as much. Apply one or two coats (enough so the black doesn't show through) and then apply a wash of Ogryn flesh over the model to bring the shadows back. It won't be perfect but anything more and you will start to lose a little of the finer detail.

2) Try painting some of the finer detail something otehr than red. Most Blood Ravens have bone colored Imperial Eagles, Black boltgun casings, etc. Add some metal to the boltguns on the ammo clips and pistol grip. You really need to add something to the various weapons to distinguish them from the rest of the marine. Kind of take what you did to the command squad and apply it to the rest of the army (with the black bolters).

Overall, it's a nice start, just keep on working and you'll have yourself a nice force.

thanks for the comments, yeah i realized too late that the paint wasn't thick enough, unfortunatly i DON'T wanna repaint the whole army right now so i think i'll just leave them as-is and slowly redo them 1 squad at a time paying extra special detail to them, after the army is completly done though

@Hubernator: they arn't chewed actually that is superglue from where the plasticard strips wouldn't stay on, i gotta file it down and GS on some kind of support things

Thanks, actually i just made them a small cloak of greenstuff, mixed together sone grass and small debris flock, and flocked their cloaks, its that simple

thanks for the comments, i'm going to try to black line them with an art pen, hopefully that will fix some of their issues
