JEFF4i
Couldn't a Thunderfire Cannon be extremely nasty? Potentially drop 2 of these as your HS not in the first turn, but also have some TDA, VenDred, Normal Dred, and some GHs? Would probably be best against something like Tau, maybe Eldar, along those lines. I'm just thinking, 2 Thunderfire Cannons means 2 artillery hits, the storm bolter, and possibly a BP if someone gets gutsy? Two would only be 270 points also... JEFF4i
We don´t have access to the Thunderfire Cannon. Yeah I couldn't take the concept initially of what the Thunderfire Cannon is, not thinking about it in RAW terms, my mistake. Just making an illogical leap. To keep the thread moving... What about whirlwinds? See, I rarely use artillery type vehicles/units when I drop pod, excluding the occasional Vindi. I hope you mean to roll them from reserves, because if they're sitting alone on the field with nothing in front of them they go pop pretty quick. saphius
The TF is a heavy Wep and wouldn't be able to shoot the turn it drops correct? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162305-so-in-a-drop-pod-army/#findComment-1907508 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Pie plates are good AGAINST drop pod armies... they dont benefit additionally from playing a drop pod army. The only possible benefit you might find is if your enemy turtles up real nice your more likely to hit them. However youll have the constant drawback of potentially hitting your own men. *Spreads hands* I dont reccommend it for common use, but your mileage may vary. You keep your hands together in my thread!!! Yeah, that occured to me, that if I'm dropping into their army, I probably shouldn't be battering it! Hehe.
