Combo
just a quick question, in constructing a space marine army and it says that one terminator squad in the army can take a land raider as a dedicated transport. Does this land raider still take up a heavy slot, or does it act like other dedicated transports and so not take up a slot at all? Giga
That particular land raider is considered dedicated transport and doesn't take a heavy support slot. However only one termi squad in the army can have a land raider as a dedicated transport, so you can't have 3 dedicated transport land raiders. Doc Faolan
Unless the FAQ says otherwise, I'd say it's "free" as far as slotting goes, just like a Rhino or Razorback would be. Combo
thank you! to clarify a final point the codex says "one terminator squad in the army may select a land raider of any type as a dedicated transport" under the terminator section. Under the Assault terminator Squad section it says "One terminator assault squad in the army may select a land raider of any type as a dedicated transport" Assuming you follow this exactly a terminator squad does not equal the same as an assault terminator squad. Does this really mean you could get two land raiders as none heavy choices? that seems a bit overkill and I assume this has been retconned? Giga
Well, by that logic, you really should be allowed to have two land raiders as dedicated transports - one for a regular termi squad, and one for an assault squad. I guess it's just bad wording, but technically it's possible... (although really, that's a minimum of ~440 points per 5 termies + land raider, total 880 points for 12 models without any upgrades, impractical imho) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162376-terminator-dedicated-transport/#findComment-1908300 Share on other sites
Prodigy
Yes, technically you can have 5 Land Raiders in one army, it will just cost 1900 pts minimum Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162376-terminator-dedicated-transport/#findComment-1908302 Share on other sites

If some-one really wants lot of land raiders they can go right ahead....
