whitewolfmxc
For those think Russ doesn't deserve a healing ability : QUOTE (whitewolfmxc @ Mar 13 2009, 06:01 AM) * 3) Healing factor : Hands down again , yes Lion you stabbed him in the heart , but he didn't die and he healed afterwards The Lion stabbed the Wolf in the heart? When? Its when they had the last fight against each other (not sure of the official order of that fight though) , where Lion Stabbed Russ in the Prime heart , but Russ survived and healed afterwards . But after that Russ and Lion started to give respect to each other , and so on "There are three documented events of the Lion and the Wolf fighting each other. Round #1: On the world of Dulan, the traitor commander Durath had insulted Russ by calling him the emperor's lap dog and Russ wanted to kill him in personal combat. He demanded that the DA stand down and allow the SW to attack. Jonson had reconnoitered the enemy redoubt and wasn't going to let Russ spoil his careful plans, hence the DA assaulted at dawn, easily breaking through the defenses. Jonson slew Durath in full view of the SW on the battlements while Russ was caught up in combat down below. So, after the victory, Russ threw the famous punch which started the SW-DA feud and ended up with Russ being carried away!! Round #2: After news of the Horus Heresy reached them and the DA and SW fleet started back to Terra, they came across the world of Kalidus Secundus. The orbital fortress had fallen to the enemy and was bombarding loyalists on the planet below. This Russ wanted to assault and destroy, while Jonson wanted to proceed directly to Terra. While discussing this strategy and interrogating Tarus, a fleeing survivor from the orbital fortress, they started arguing and fighting.... until a brother Hrothgar blew the head off Tarus revealing him to be a demon. REF # Conventional Fluff Round #3 REF: The Lion and the Wolf Ver 1 ) The final battle between Lion'el and Leman was after they had reached terra and found the emperor all but slain. Leman had insisted on detours to save critical imperial worlds, while Lion'el had insisted they make all speed to terra. They stopped and saved a forge world (hence the 'Leman Russ' tank), among other things. Now, Lion'el blamed Russ for the delay and the near-slaying of their father. Russ, tired of the fighting, bore his bare chest, and Lion'el, mad with rage, struck him through his primary heart. His madness subsided, however, he stayed his hand still, leaving the secondary heart intact. Lion'el then apologized and stayed by Russ' bedside while he healed. REF#: Codex Space wolves 40K 2nd ed, Page 8 Ver 2 ) There is a slightly different snippet of information in the second edition Codex Space wolves (40K2). This relates to an incident where the DA suddenly broke ranks with the SW and made a sudden assault on the enemy, leaving the SW flank vulnerable leading to many SW casualties. Worse still the DA swept the enemy from the battlefield. After the battle Russ sought out Jonson and battled him for a day and more until both collapsed with exhaustion. They ended up swearing vengeance on each other. According to this they then met and battled each other on many occasions, trying to kill each other, but never succeeding despite horrendous injuries (including more than a couple more stab wounds inflicted on Russ's heart). This is stated to be the origin of the feud and while it continued, the primarchs grew to respect each other. Grey Mage
IIRC that was actually made by members of the B+C. A number of the smaller lesser characters have member names.... though I suppose it could be the other way around. whitewolfmxc
oh really ? good to know, something good came out of it. At least it wasnt stopped by others lack of reasonable creativity . I got tired of being told that all the stuff i wrote were either overpowered (while some other characters have the same or simmiler effect/ ability and they arent called that way, oh wait or are they all ignored since primarchs being good is not permitted) oh and some people dont even know the fluff and claim some rules are bull, under cost (find me another character that costs 500 points ) , making Shxt up (although i have full explanation and actual fluff support reason for them) , not balanced compare to other primarchs (which some people keep forgetting 40k is a combat simulator , not a goody goody Olympic game , some are just pure better in a battlefield) sorry just some rant , after what ive been told. oh well feels much better now , off i go to start gluing my Giant Russ miniature.......ill just leave the game rules to those other good people who can stand such accusation and feel ok to keep going.
