Saint Smiley
I have a couple of questions relating to Bike Squads. I'm sure that neither of these questions will be hard for you guys to answer however both issues have come up in recent games. 1. Bikes now have the relentless special rule in 5th edition, which means they can fire all weapons. Does this include the special weapon that the marine carries (eg Plasma gun), as well as the twin linked bolter? Have played a game recently where one opponent was said that I could fire both and another who informed me it was either or? 2. If you take a command squad and replace the bolter with an additional hand weapon, and pistol, and then upgrade to have them on bikes, can you use the additional attack in assault? I can understand why in my last game my opponent told me that I couldn't as one hand would be need to drive the bike, however sticking with the rules I'm sure I can? In the event I didn't use it just to keep the game flowing but want to know for future games. Thanks in advance for any responces Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162554-bikes/ Share on other sites

You can only fire one weapon per 'crew'/biker, so he can fire either his special weapon or twin bolters, in the case of attack bikes (2 crew) you can fire both 2. Normal bike squads dont have the pistol so dont get +1 attack, however a command squad upgraded to have bikes, keep thier wargear and do get the extra attack for 2 ccw's (if you choose pistol/ccw)... you do pay for it in points though, that unit can rack up to be quite expensive. eyescrossed
1. You can only fire 1 weapon per turn, but special weapons still get Relentless. 2. Dreadsock that person - you do not need a hand to steer the bike - you get the additional attack. EDIT: greatcrusade beat me... Steelmage99
Yep. The old "you-need-one-hand-to-steer-the-bike-rule" went away with 4th edition. Hell, Marines might "plug in" to their bike the same way they do with their armour (could be through an Imperially sanctioned "Aquila" router. :P) and just steer by thinking of it. Pyro_Falcon
White Scars IA article said they would steer their bikes with their legs Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162554-bikes/#findComment-1910807 Share on other sites
