hartnett
does having two hvy flamers on an iron clad mean that theyre twin linked or just get 2 shots?? if its 2 would you say thats a bit unfail against either orks or mobs of nids?? waaanial00
It means 2 templates not twin-linked. Therefore hopefully killing more unless you roll low for the wounds Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162568-iron-clad/#findComment-1910874 Share on other sites

hartnett
cool :) im using 1 or 2 in my next battle to tie up mobs of orcs that have had the nob killed by telion :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162568-iron-clad/#findComment-1910904 Share on other sites
waaanial00
cool :)im using 1 or 2 in my next battle to tie up mobs of orcs that have had the nob killed by telion :D In all seriousness I wouldnt bother getting Telion to take their Nobs out. Give the IronClads Assault Launchers and then if the Orks attack you they only get 3 attempts to hit you with that Claw statistically they will hit once and then they need a 4 to glance if they have charged or a 5 to glance if they have not. Assuming that they are fearless you will probably win combat by 2 each turn therefore killing 2 more for "no retreat", losing 4 each combat turn until they are not fearless and they will run. Now if it were a normal Dread I would say that Telion shot is an absolute must but with the Ironclad it is tough enough to survive without it methinks. Especially if you are planning on Ork BBQ before the charge :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162568-iron-clad/#findComment-1910917 Share on other sites
tedwin183
I typically set down one template and multiply the models under it by 2. The template is measured from the base of the dread, not the weapons (like other vehicles). Since you're placing that template in the place that gets the most models...why would you waste time trying to reposition a second template? Just multiply. I always take 2 HF...always. My opponents always manage to keep their vehicles moving 12", so as to render the melta on the ironclad useless. The seismic hammer also never comes into play because the stupid vehicles are moving around so fast. I bring the 2 heavy flamers to give my opponent's squads hell. The only thing that has killed my iron clad thus far is a lucky lascannon shot from a land raider and a lucky powerklaw hit from a nob in an 'ard boyz squad.
