Giga
As far as I know, unless the transport is an assault vehicle, the models cannot assault after disembarking (unless the transport was immobile the previous turn, which the drop pod wasn't). Top Secret
The Ironclad Dreadnought cannot assault because any unit that deep strikes may not assault unless their rules say so. waaanial00
Actually it is more specific than that, if you look at the drop pod assault rules (in the codex next to combat tactics rule) it specifically states that units arriving via drop pod cannot assault on the turn they arrive. It probably also says this on the Drop Pod page in the bottom right paragraph but dont have my codex on me. In short no you cannot. The rules for no assault after deepstrike are not specific enough because technically the unit has not deep striked their transport is and as it is an open topped transport, depending on how fast it technically has travelled there is an argument that they could assault in the turn they arrive. Which is exactly wy they have written a rule into the codex which specifically states that you cannot assault. Sorry for the elaborately long answer but it is best to be specific so that some RAW person doesnt try and explain how the rules can be used to allow them to charge. derekbadger
I'd wondered about this.... If you deepstrike a Land speeder storm (open topped), can the unit of scouts contained within assault in that turn?
