KolliIronbear
Well. It's been a while, and i have very little to show for it. But for lurking here I just can't help but add my stuff to the fray. It's nothing special. But still Oh. and i am pretty sure that one of these days i'll get around the highlighting the black. First, an RAF marine. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/RaFGun.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/RaFRear.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/RaFRt.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/RaFSword.jpg And i know it's not the best paint job in the world, but i am Super proud of the termy sargeant. Especially the modest freehand i attempted on his shoulder. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/TermyDeadon.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/TermySargeFt.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/TermySargeLt.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/TermySargeRt.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/TermyShoulder.jpg Sorry the last two photos are so similar. The angle is slightly different and i couldn't decide which photo was better suited for viewing from the masses. In any event, tell me what you think, and i'll keep pluggin' away! Rob_Loken
Wow, nice. I like the use of the blue for lenses and weaponry. It really stands out against the orange armour. And the use of bone for the casings and such looks good to. Dark Disciple
The freehand is quite good. Ok I admit it thats amazing! Especially for your first attempt. Any chance of a step by step? KolliIronbear
looking good, the only thing that i dont like is that they look a bit to clean and healthy for chaos marines , otherwise they're awesome Thanks :D (about the lookin' awesome) As for battle damage I want them to look like they really haven't been chaos for long. Renegades mostly. It's also the reason they won't have any mutations. Just spikes and horns 'n the like. That said. I really want to try my hand at some good battledamge. Prolly on something =][= ....Especially for your first attempt.Any chance of a step by step? Im assuming you mean the freehand. And as for amazing, naa. Boltman's Lustwing (who i ripped the idea off of pretty hard core) is amazing. As for a step by step, it was pretty simple. 1. Black basecoat 2. Mechrite Red (though i am pretty sure it's the same colour as red gore just... thicker) 3. Blood red (this is the colour that actually is predominant on all my pyre marines) I do this in several thin coats (mostly on this guy) 4. I mixed blood red with blazing orange and slapped on some circles where i wanted the faces to be (i had a rough idea of what i wanted the faces to look like when all was said and done) 5. Then blazing orange, laying out a bit more of a definite shape. 6. Blazing orange and fiery orange - it was like 2-3 different amounts, adding just a bit more fiery with each try. Each time i added fiery i made my lines thinner, trying to bring some shape into the mess i made. 7. The final highlight is Fiery orange and Bleached bone mixed about 50/50 i used this rather sparingly because the colour i got was a pastel orange. The paint nearest to the black trim doesn't have all these steps. It was just a really watered down blazing (3-4 coats) and fiery (3 tries) which i did when i did the pure colours on the faces (i tried to tie the faces into the outer highlight when i did this). In any event. I'll prolly have an update in a week-ish. I just need to finish a backpack on a RaF conversion and tidy up his base, then it's on to an Aspiring champion. Wow. i am long winded. KolliIronbear
Whoa, before I get shut down for threadromancy. I figured i had a wee update and could just toss em in here. Sorry if this ruffles any feathers. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/CheckerKnife.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/CheckerSkin.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/Checkerbarrel2.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/Checkergun.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/H2hbloody.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Nokarot/Kolli%20Stuff/h2hfrontagain.jpg Anyway, as per usual i would love to hear any critique, and hopefully not see the melta brought to bear to stop the lumbering corpse that is my revenant thread! Alright. i'll stop now. Kolli Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162713-pyre-sub-chapter-stuff/#findComment-1956072 Share on other sites
