Top Secret
I have two Tactical Squads, and an HQ. Assuming I combat both squads, I now have: Squad 1A Squad 1B Squad 2A Squad 2B Can I throw Squads 1A and 2A along with my HQ into the same Drop Pod? Captain Malachi
No, for one thing, combat squadding doesn't happen until they leave the pod anyway, and even ignoring that it still isn't a legal move. Isiah
The reason why: because a transport can only carry a single unit + ICs. Two combat squads are two units. Maligoare
Technically, the answer is yes, but only for the combat squads of a single origin squad. Combat squading does not happen if you deploy from a drop pod until the squad actually arrives. Because of this, there is only unit 1 and unit 2 (assuming both are held in reserve), so you have no squads 1A and 2A, in addition to the usual rules for transports. Unit 1 and an IC are perfectly fine to deploy all together from a DP and then combat squad though. Scott-S6
No, it would be legal if he had 1A+1B+IC. 1A+2A+IC, not legal. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162721-three-units-in-one-drop-pod/#findComment-1913117 Share on other sites
Maligoare
Yep, realised that and edited accordingly. That'll teach me to read the post more thoroughly... elijahdprophet
You could, then, put a 10 man squad and 2 ICs in a drop pod, and on landing have them go in 4 different directions? Can you give a captain a jump pack and have him ride along in a pod? JamesI
a captain with a jump pack is jump infantry and can not ride in a transport. But you can put 2 ICs and a 10 man squad in a drop pod, then combat squad. The ICs would have to remain joined until they can move out of 2 inches from the squads. JamesI
The rules are not clear here. But, each IC can only join one squad, just make it clear during the combat squadding.
