Ragner Blackmane
I'm not only new to this site but also new to the fellow Brothers of Russ. I have just bought, off a friend, some space marines including a Ragner model, 2 captains, 3 scouts (bolters + CCW), 3 scouts (Sniper rifles), a stard bearer (that I'm turning into either a Sergeant or Pack leader) and 23 marines (1 flamer). So my fellow Wolves my question is :- Do you have any tips how to make these models more wolfy and what to use the captains for. BTW I was just wonderin' is the new collecters' model with dual lightning claws able to be used as a WGBL or a WG in term armour. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162792-need-help/ Share on other sites
Yeti
You're best bet is to try and get your hands on some SW accessory sprues. Plenty of wolfy bits on those. If you're handy with green stuff, you can try sculpting some pelts or wolf tails. As for the captains, you can used them as wolf guard - battle leaders, bodyguards or pack leaders, your choice. As for the new model, he's in power armor. It's just that his arms are so big ... they look like terminator arms. JEFF4i
One box of Grey Hunters does wonders. My most recent box I bought I haven't made one grey hunter out of it, but there are so many useful bitz. The one with the dual lightning claws can be used as whatever, doesn't much matter so long as they can be equipped as such. Dark Bjoern
The Ragnar Model is a good start. He´s a Wolf Lord and you should use him as a such (as Ragnar or as a cheaper, generic Wolf Lord). The Captains could be used as WGBL or WGPL. You´ll need a C:SW. You can get a downloadable version from GW Canada. How to make them wolfy? You can give them wolf pelts made from Green Stuff. It´s quit easy. You should try searchy here at the Fang. There´re many discriptions how to do that. Some wolfy bits from the SW sprue would also work. And not to forget a good paint job. A good paint job is half the work. You should take a look at our gallery: here Sure you can use the new WG as a normal WG or a WGBL or WGPL. Grey Mage
Id reccommend getting a box of bloodclaws. Itll give you 10 sets of chainswords and bolt pistols, wich is always handy. Itll give you a whole bunch of of wolfy-bits to glue onto your marines to make them a little more authentic looking if you know what I mean. Itll also give you 10 Plasma pistols, a meltagun, and two power weapons for you to put on your marines as youll be wanting to use those options on your Grey Hunters.
