I don’t want to blow smoke up your arse, but I am going to.

This is one of the best armies I have seen, love it, love it, and love it.

I bet you can’t wait for the new codex.

Have you read the Grey Knights Books by Ben Counter? – These are great books.

Merry Christmas

Hail fellow Battle-Brother

absolutely LOVE all your work and your standard of painting is exceptional!!! ~Purity Seal Worthy~ but you should be proud GW got inspired by you and released a model very much like what happened with the Landspeeder Storm. you are the man the started the ball rolling on the Storm Raven!

keep up the outstanding work!!!

catcha later BulldogUK

peace

WOW is all that I can post.

Hands Down one of the best looking assembled armies I have ever seen, straight toss up between you and Dave Taylor's Ultra Marines for the best that I have been fortunate enough to see.

Again WOW!!! Good Work and can't wait to see more.

So i got to ask, the stormraven and the Thawk both show the same level of detail and identical parts, and i'm wondering what you based the models off of? Did you cannibalize an existing model? if so which one. Or did you straight up scratch build these? If so AMAZING and did you use a template?

This thread is full of amazing work. Keep it up.

However, I do have an issue with the thread title. You seem to be implying that all Daemonettes are loose and of questionable morality. The Daemonettes I associate with are nothing like that, and are in fact cultured and polite Warp-spawned horrors. I demand you change the title at once.

Finally got round to doing a bit of GK stuff, probably in a minority here but I actually LIKE the Dreadknight! I think it captures the Grey Knight ethos of using alien technology perfectly, it aint supposed to look like anything before it, in fact the whole way through (especially the sword) it felt distinctly Eldar'ish

Anyhow onto the pics, went stock with this one but very tempted to buy another and re-pose it in a more dramatic style

Kaldor added the army too

Finally, got hold of a couple more Scibor 'sci fi knights' these guys are much bigger than the GW equivs so thought they might look good as Paladins, if anything is capable of sustaining 2 wounds these chaps are!

On thier 'Mr fancypants' bases

And good old fashioned gaming bases

Finally a couple 'o nat light shots, if your a Demon this is not a good way to start the day!

Just a little snippet here. If, like me, you already own a bazillion of the metal GK figures and don't really want to fork out on yet MORE unnecessary plastic minis here is a little easy fix solution to converting those pyscannons to psilencers on a non permanent basis. If, also like me, your a natural born '1' roller you will be gracious for the numerous dice this option adds as for some of us it's usually the only way we can hit that barn door!

Simple really, using some appropriate plastic tubing I created some psilencer looking barrel caps which simply slot over the original Psycannon barrels, one size fits all! They are held with a little bluetak and allow me to quickly distinguish between which of my troops are carrying what. 6 took me about 30 mins to knock up, cheap as chips!

I may whip up some little 'sticks' to attach to the backpacks of my troops to represent Interceptor squads but since my troops have colour coded helmets it's not an immediate priority right now

Original Pycannons

And with the Bulldog-o-matic handy psilencer squad destroyer attachments!

I'm not a fan of Grey Knights, never have been. Which is odd considering my DIY chapter has a Knight theme to it.

Anyway, I do like yours. Consider me a fan. I think its because they aren't shining Gold or Silver. They are, well, grey. They wear unpainted ceramite to show their purity and it's a rather dull metallic, not some outrageous if-the-sun-catches-my-pouldron-you're-blind metal.

You actually do the GK kits justice. ;)

Yet, I'll never love the DreadKnight, every time I see it I can't help but be reminded of the Grey Knight as a giant baby strapped into a harness on the front of it.

Just pre-ordered one of these chaps from Dreamforge, he's just screaming for some GK lovin'!

The bases come with the minis XkhalilX, from Scibor montrous miniatures. I believe he sells them seperately too along with lots of other interesting modding bits n bobs

The Crusader Stands around 9 inches tall, weighs a kilo and contains 131 parts! 230'ish quid including shipping to UK and special pre-order price, all things considered quite a cracking price, only shame is there will be about a 2 or 3 month wait and I will probably get stung with import duty BIG BAH. I will probably mod a tip on that sword and a pyscannon left hand optional weapon for a more GK look loadout

Few more bits and pieces for the Greys, sorry about the poor quality pics, had to use the phone as it looks like the camera is finally on the way out! Just can't seem to get any decent pics of the Greys, they look so much better in the flesh...must be the aegis interfering with our primitive technology or something!

First up, Crowe

Had these Deathcult Assassins lying around for ages, seemed a good time to get 'em painted had to actually dust them off before painting!

And of course the SPAAAAAACCEEEE MOOOONKEEEEEYYY! (OK, I know it's an ape, but it really doesn't roll of the tongue as well does it)

I like how the mixed unit of henchmen work now it really offers some interesting combinations in a Knight army, should be fun...almost like the good old Rogue Trader days!

Also gives me an excellent excuse to buy and paint every other Knight/Inquis model I don't currently own....yay!

  • 2 weeks later...

2nd Dreadknight finished (just a few purity seals to add here n there). I was originally going to go for some funky deamon confrontation but then saw the costs of the kits and came to my senses...knocked up a chaos dreadnought thing from some bits box stuff and diverting the funds to snag a cheap Chimera to inquis up <_<

Anyhow, here we go, really liking these kits I may well invest in a 3rd and final in the future...
