A few Small updates, bagged a banner from ebay, gave it a tickle with the brush and decided to hand it over to the paladin 'counts as' for safe keeping

I also got fed-up with waiting for FW to get those damn autocannons back in stock (typical they have now) so splashed out on an aegis defense box set and used the un-modified ones out of it, I quite like the 'rifleman' look and bonus is the spare bits are gonna go to make some nice objective markers. Crazy thing is the aegis line is actually CHEAPER than buying two autocannons from FW!

I also decided to jump on the bandwagon just so I could say I have been there and painted up a blade using the new funky GW technique, while I aint really a fan of this look on mass as I tend to think it gets lost in the throng (I much prefer the glowing bright blue of my existing blades, they look mint on the table) it should look quite nice on the odd hero blade or two

Quick question.

You mention that you have bought some models from eBay and stripped them down.

What stripping method do you use? I have a squad of Black Templars that want to be Imperial Fists.

Awesome work, by the way.

If you're a UK resident then Dettol or Fairy power spray are effective without damaging plastic. If you're a US resident I hear Simple Green is the go to product. Anywhere else and I have got no idea.

Just as Olisredan says Battleflag. Soak them overnight in the tipple of your choice then give them a scrub with an old toothbrush and soapy water. Be warned this is the messy bit, either cover things up or do it while the good lady is out of the way so you can clean things up before getting your ear nagged off!!!

I tend to use white spirit to scrub them with too as it breaks down the resulting 'gunk' much better, your hands will look like something from a horror film for a few days so keep moisterising them for a few days after!

Use a wooden toothpick to clean out any persistant lumps of gunk when your done, after that just undercoat and paint as normal...you will be amazed by what's under a lot of the paint...some quite nice models sometimes!

The important thing with the disinfectant your going to use is the pine oil content, don't be tempted by the cheaper shop brands, I checked them out and good old Dettol (UK) comes through tops with it's pine oil

ps. Works on anything from acrylics to oil based paints

When focused on they may look a little strange schultzhoffen but you have to think about the bigger picture, when spread around on the table and mixed with enemy figures, etc they really add a nice bit of eye candy to the proceedings, anything smaller and viewed from the distance of a tabletopper would probably just get lost in the maelstrom of battle. Remember as far as I am concerned these aren't dust monkey display figures to sit on the shelf, they are rough and ready troopers to go forth and slay the heretics!

been crossing a few more tees. Got a bunch of teleporter backpacks from ebay and swapped 'em out on an existing squad so they stand out a little, dunno why I just didn't paint 'please break me' on them all to be honest, it's got to be the most stupid design to date all those 'sticky out' bits!

I remember seeing the Titan at GDUK08: I was really impressed by it. I think it was the same quy who told me about Armorcast and their range of Cinematic Effects (This was after admiring the use of before-then unknown parts for Jump Pack thrust effects). To see it now brings back memories, especially as that was my first ever Games Day.

Had a few weeks off to recharge the batteries. Managed to snag this model from Ebay and got down to slapping some colours onto him. Gotta admit, really looking forward to using big K in some battles, I like his style of thinking with Orbital bombardments!

Big K came already assembled and modded into the step pose, a friend very kindly had a rummage around his bits box and pulled me out a suitable foot stool, a chaos marine seemed somehow appropriate!

Just putting together 4 of Scibors latest to add to the 'counts as' Paladins and also gonna start on an Inquis Chimera some time soon, got a shark warhound to try and get finished right now though so me time is precious!

Haven't had the opportunity to try him yet but I am really looking forward to the indiscriminate Orbital Bombardments that don't scatter....If your really lucky you kill EVERYONE and don't have to waste time with those pesky mind-wipes! Sounds like fun!

Chimera done, the boss can travel in a little more comfort now!

Kept the same red/black scheme so it matched the existing Razor/Rhino

Shame it's gotta go to one side for a few week until I finish other things off.....GAH!

2 more Paladins added, again both scibor, the dude with the head came with a nice pair of wings, obviously not needed for this situation!

Made a little time between commission work to knock out this Crusader, another ticked off the list!

Went together like a dream and fun to paint, will be putting some pennies by to bag Dreamforges Mortis model in the future

Decided to go with a GK theme to compliment my ever growing forces but tried to keep it pretty generic so as to be able to use it in pretty much any gaming system that requires a giant death dealing war machine!

Or even a replacement Dreadknight for those people that thought the standard GW ones were a little anorexic and required a month at the gym (well this is the result)

Besides...I like shiny

The primary weapon config, BIG GUN, BIG CHOPPY THING!

I ordered an additional BIG GUN so in it's secondary weapon config of 2 x BIG GUNS I reckon it could give even Chuck Norris a run for his money...

Here are some ref shots of the GK walker clan now, I bobbed the FW Reaver in there so you can get an idea of size..Odin as always looks down fondly like a doting mummy dog on her litter of little shiny puppies, aaaaaaahhh
