Ethnic Minority
I've been compiling the different ways people have been painting their plague marines, and this one blows the others' out of the water (or plague-infested water equivalent). You're making it very difficult to choose! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162940-stripey-white-plague-marine-tutorial/page/2/#findComment-3286644 Share on other sites
Chaeron
If anyone wonders why I posted in this thread again, it is because people are still following the previous links I posted in this thread, there are a lot of Nurgle appropriate painting tips on my Diseased Sons website. I did wonder about that bump Musk! I've followed this right up until the last stages - and decided I didn't want to go 'stripey white' - but this has to be one of the best, most comprehensive guides around. nurglez
I just wanted to say thanks, this tutorial is excellent. I didn't go stripy white, and painted my trim differently, but a brilliantly nice nurgly base coat from the basecoat white and 3 washes. Chaeron
Nice! Pretty funny you posted in a thread about the scheme, when you haven't really followed it though haha! Great twist though, important you crib other people's ideas to flesh out your own - great to see it inspires people still. nurglez
Well, I was following the scheme, up until a point :P Seeing the green as it turned out really worked for me, still gave me a colour I never would have come across (base coat white, black wash, brown wash then green wash? really?) and was pretty easy to do. So yes, thanks where it is intended :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/162940-stripey-white-plague-marine-tutorial/page/2/#findComment-3318040 Share on other sites
Chaeron
For sure! I decided I didn't want to go with the green and then go for white over the top. Resulted in this: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/IMG-20130125-00078_zpsc8000293.jpg Very happy - such a great tutorial, and pleased to be able to customise accordingly too. nurglez
Exactly, having done the first few steps, I was thinking I could go dry brush white after the brown wash, to make a sort of pre heresy scheme. Chaeron
Specifically - it was the old Macharius Solar Orange - now Jokaero Orange, with a few washes over the top. Simple!
