yperihitikos
According to Sicarius's special rules, one tactical squad in the army can take the scout special rule. Now, according to scout special rule, if they deploy inside a dedicated transport the ability is confered to the trasport too. It seems to me as an unexplored approach to the C:SM. If you equip the drop pod with a locator beacon then you can make a brilliant co-ordinated drop pod assault in your first turn, or just begin the game with a multi-melta behind enemy lines. My query is the exact interpretation of the Drop Pod Assault. If indeed I'm allowed to deploy the first of the six drop pods in my army before the game begins, then what happens with the remaining five? Do i have to coose half the initial or the remaining Drop pods "rounding up"? Castus Xanthis
Drop Pods are immobile and thus cannot benefit from the Scouts special rule. As for your question, it is half of the total rounded up, the remainder are rolled for as normal. Legatus
Scout moves happen before the start of the first turn. Drop Pods enter play during the players first turn or later. When scout moves are performed there never are any Drop Pods in play, so Drop Pods or the units landing with them will never interact in any way with the "Scout" special rule. Hymirl
Yeah, scout only helps if you're on the table at the start of the game it won't help you get onto the table. And since a unit in a pod can't use outflank either you're pretty much just flushing Sicarius's abilty down the toilet trying this. Why not just use scout bikes? They infiltrate, scout and turbo-boost which means they can put their beacon pretty much anywhere on the table you want on turn one for your pods to land next to! Its what they're there for.... DevianID
Perhaps you were thinking of the old scout rule saying scouts can always start on the board? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163322-scouting-drop-pods/#findComment-1921271 Share on other sites
