Battle Royale Week Eight: Zahariel vs. Zadkiel

Okay....this week we have battle of Zs.

Zahariel of the Dark Angels, from Descent of Angels. He single-handedly slew one of the great beasts of Caliban, and fought alongside the Lion himself. While we'll learn more of him in months to come, its safe to say, he's a tough cookie. After leaving Caliban in the 22nd Chapter of the DA, he went so far as to save the Lion.

Zadkiel of the Word Bearers, from Battle for the Abyss. A Fleet Captain for the Word Bearers, bested Cestus a Captain of the 7th Ultramarines Chapter (who had previously beaten people like the Space Wolf Grimnar) in combat, and proved his competency all-around.

My vote goes to Zahariel, he's just a born warrior.

I'm actually unsure of whether or not he'll be Cypher, I mean its possible, but seems a bit predictable. I'd prefer him not be, to be honest.

That said, to pre-empt any comments, I know this is another MaybeLoyal vs Traitor type thing, but since we really aren't sure whether he's Cypher or will be integral to Lion's retaking of Caliban, I thought it better to place him Loyalist than assume he isn't.

Zadkiel all the way. I mean, everyone can slay a warp beast (who if not a Word Bearer  ) but it takes a true master of combat to best a smurf captain (who bested a puppy).

@ JEFF4i: A Space Wolf votes for a DA ? What has happened to the galaxy ? :Elite:

Hehe, I really like Zahariel, one of those, "tough as nails" kind of guys. Its amazing he's a DA to be honest! Hehehe.

Personally I'd expect Zahariel, I mean come on. He fights (fought, past tense) with the Lion even before the Descent of Angels and he saw (kind of) the Emperor (doesn't remember it though) Where as mister coward the Word Bearer is just some guy with a rapier and little or no guts. The fact that I'm a loyalist has Nothing to do with this, really

Zadkiel is frankly one of the most piss poor, shallow and pantominic villians I have ever come across.

Zachariel, on the other hand is at least slightly talented and a worthy Son of the Lion, even if he is hopelessly naive.

Zach gets my vote.

i have to commit heresy and vote for a traitor, so Zachariel.

and lets remember the smurf beat a wolf in a duel without weapons...if the wolf had been fighting a enemy, not a brother he was fueding with, the outcome would have been different.

wolf lord kieran

I have to say Zahariel.

Its a little known fact that the Abyss was the Word Bearers Istaven III.

Thats how we got rid of out baggage :tu:

Otherwise I just close my eyes and pretend that book was never written

Actually they battled with chainswords and the winner would be the first to draw the opponent's blood. Zadkiel is a moron in my opinion. He took uneccesary damage in the space battle and he thought too highly of himself. Plus he is too paranoid, sure he bested Cestus, but he died as well.

Zahariel gets my vote.

Captain Kael :D

EDIT: spelling :P

okay, my mistake. they fought till first blood, which proves....nothing really. should have just arm wreslted or played paper, scissor, rocks...it would have been quicker, and prove the same thing.

cause from where i stand, it isnt who hits first that wins, it is he (or she) that still stands after the fight ends that wins.

WLK

I have to say that Zahariel would beat the crap out of Zadkiel. Sure, Zadkiel may have more martial prowess (being a Captain and all), but there's no comparison to fighting s Great Beast on a Death World with inferior equipment!

Sure, Zadkiel may have bested an Ultramarine, but what else has he defeated? Any great daemons? Xenos? Even a psyker? All he has going for him is a good sword arm. Especially with Zahariel's Terrorsight, Zadkiel would underestimate him more than even he did when the Abyss was damaged. There is no doubt in my mind that Zahariel would defeat him.
