Trouble Ahead

I paint fast and dirty with few colours, enough people compliment my figures to make me feel my technique is effective for table top troops anyway

Faces, undercoat black, tallarn flesh water slightly, paint face but not eye sockets, jowels or any deep recess, dont worry if its looks patchy this gives depth

highlight elf flesh on brow, nose, cheeks and chin,

pick out lips, fangs tongue as appropriate

Done

Looks good

Why does that one bloodclaw have such a large beard?

They are meant to be the young pups, short cleaner beards.

But great job painting, just don't understand that bearded one.

SM age differently, if you think you can be a BC for over 40 years and the genseed doesnt stop your aging right away, i could think a BC could look like that

He could be their Wolf Guard Pack Leader :)

I know some people who could grow respectable beards from their late teens onwards :)

Yes the geneseed does influence aging in SM/SW, so a bloodclaw with a great big beard is fine.

Also no one knows if the wolf priest only look for young fenrisians to choose as SWs, maybe they look at old guys aswell.

I read somewhere that SMs have to be chosen young as otherwise their bodies will likely reject the many implants...

i'm gonna be the devils advocate, i thought bloodclawsz weren't allowed to grow beards, until they become grey hunters

Its not them being allowed, its not used to. Blood claws are clean shaven (that's why ragnar's still's without beard cuz he never made grey hunter) but i dont think it mentions anywhere that it is not permitted...its just that they dont since they are the younglings who're supposed to be hairless...

Yea, I just spent some time looking at those very nicely painted models again.

Power Weapon (or frost blade) - check

Space Wolves backpack - check

Wolf Pelt - check

wolf tooth necklace - check

shows leadership (ie pointing out directions) - check

looks older and wiser than the rest of pack - check

Yup. thats a WGPL.

I couldnt ever justify him being just a blood claw, but as thier mentor, he kicks butt.

Source??

found it

wolf's honour page 61

"Unlike Torin or Haer his square chin was clean-shaven, in the custom of the blood claws. A space wolf grew his beard only after beeing accepted into the grey hunters or the wolf scouts."

Thanx

But i could think this could be different with each wolf lord, My wolf lord is beardless so most troops are to
