Just read this on BoLS: - Leman Russ special rule: "Lumbering Behemoth" - a Leman Russ that remained stationary or moved up to 6" can fire its turret weapon in addition to any other weapons it may fire - even if the turret weapon is ordnance. No, the rumour kitchen says that it will be a special rule that allows the Leman Russ to move up to 6" and fire all!!!! weapons. And i mean all. If the rumour is right. On the up side ... no more running away from our scouts! :P Frankly though ... I don't think it'll apply to our version of the Leman Russ. As mentionned we have a complete entry in our codex and unless GW stuns all and redoes the FAQ ... the version in the codex is what you run with. Just ask all the DA players out there! If it stays in the revised codex though ... I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more LREs. With the Lumbering Behemoth and the Heavy 4, twin-linked autocannons we'll have one mega nasty anti-troop platform. Better armor, slightly higher rate of fire than two predators.... so lets say we double the price of a predator and then add 20pts for saving you a slot? Thats 180, so 200 on the outside is perfectly reasonable as a conservative guess. I really dont think its going to go up. However, as we are Space Wolves, we'd get the 1 Russ, since our Codex says 0-1 Leman Russ Exterminator, not 0-1 Leman Russ Squadrons. But knowing GW they'll feth it up and give us a shoddy cut-and-paste from the IG 'dex. SM can move up to 6" and fire one main weapon and all defensive weapons (or in case of the LR and thanks to the PotMS a second main weapon) The IG Leman Russ can move up to 6" and fire all of it´s main guns (battle cannon, hull mouted lascannon and both sponson mounted weapon). Ullr Direfang Posted March 21, 2009 Share Posted March 21, 2009 Well the way see it, they need it. the leman russ is supposed to be the workhorse of the IG, and one of the most sturdy tanks around. i know they way i run my guard, they would have a hard time with out the leman russ they have, and i am thinking about adding another (which might change with the new codex). i wouldn't like to see it go up much in points, due mostly to side/rear armor and BS 3. but lumbering for combat speed or 6"+d6" for curising speed works for me.
