saadeath
This is my 3rd BT model iv painted, and 2nd model iv attempted to highlight. So a little about him, i found my old lysanders shield and thought it fit because BT were Imperial Fist first. The writing on the shield says "Altor" which is the name of my EC, but it is also latin for protector and advocate. If anyone has any tips on highlighting throw them out there. At first(kind of still dont) i didnt like highlighting, it looks more like a trim than a highlight, but thats probaly because of the way i do it :). Im waiting till i can fix all the little mistakes till i put him in the EC gallery, if you spot any tell me. Thx for the comments. Oh, i dont know if its very clear in these images, but i did outline the wording on the sword(rough translation)- "Dei Castigator"- The punisher "Imperator Rex"-God emperors Champion(Emperors Champion). FateSealer
The white looks very clean. Do you have a BT decal to add onto the shoulderpad? Also the key to highlighting black is to use fine, neat lines in grey. Otherwise it may make the model looks even messier. Brother Chaplain Ryld
Nice, I love the shield. Also the key to highlighting black is to use fine, neat lines in grey. Otherwise it may make the model looks even messier. Quoted for truth. Just tidy up any with a thin line of black and it'll look great. Brother Chaplain Ryld
Give it a go. Try putting dots where the tips of the cross should be using a fine ink pen, then just join the dots. It's how I started doing stuff like that. I'm still not that flash at it, but it looks better now than when I started. And whats the worst that can happen? You don't like it and repaint the shoulder pad. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/163563-my-finished-ec/#findComment-1923619 Share on other sites
Braindead101
I do all my templar crosses freehand, I actually find it less frustrating than trying to get the decals to sit flat! Why not try drawing guide lines in faint pencil on the shoulder pad first - I do that and it does help.
